Modular jack

Abstract

A modular socket is provided that can be easily configured to prevent the modular plug from being unable to be pulled out of the modular socket. The modular socket 1 is an electrical connection plug 2, which has: a plug body 4 with a cable 3, a contact member on the object side of the plug body 4, a latch 8 that is elastically deformable so as to rotate one end of the plug body 4 as a fulcrum toward the plug body 4, and a rod 9 provided on the latch 8. The modular socket includes: a housing 13 into which the plug 2 is inserted; a contact member 14 connected to the contact member on the object side; and a shell 15 that can be locked by the latch 8 so that the plug 2 inserted into the housing 13 cannot be pulled out of the housing 13. The shell 15 has a spring-back prevention part 27 that prevents the latch 8 from rotating away from the plug body 4, so that the latch 8 can no longer be locked with the shell 15.
