Low power and low cost active cable architecture

Abstract

An active cable architecture is disclosed. The active cable architecture is designed to connect between a first and a second electronic devices. The active cable architecture includes first and second connection ports, first and second repeaters, multiple high-speed transmission wires, and a main communication processor. The first and second repeaters are respectively disposed within the first and second connection ports. The multiple high-speed transmission wires are connected between the first and second repeaters. The main communication processor is mounted within the interior of either the first or the second connection port, enabling it to connect with one of the repeaters and communicate with another repeater located within the interior of the other connection port; thus, the main communication processor can control the synchronized communication functionality of the first and second repeaters.
