Loop filter method and video coding apparatus thereof

Abstract

A method and apparatus for in-loop filtering of reconstructed video are disclosed. According to the method, input data for a current block is received, wherein the input data comprises reconstructed samples or filtered-reconstructed samples of the current block. Position-dependent ALF (Adaptive Loop Filter) process is applied to a to-be-filtered sample in the current block depending on a position of the to-be-filtered sample to generate a filtered output sample. A filtered output block comprising the filtered output sample is provided.
