Abstract

The present invention provides a glutamic acid-metal complex wherein metal is a magnesium ion or a calcium ion. The present invention further provides a use of the glutamic acid-metal complex for enhancing plant resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, and for aiding damaged plants in resuming growth, flowering, and fruiting. By using the glutamic acid–metal complex of the present invention, plant adaptability to environmental stresses can be enhanced, and crop yield can be improved with reduced adverse effects on the plants themselves or on the environment.
