Abstract

The present invention relates to an edible natural plant extract composition for anti-fatty liver, which comprises at least one extract selected from Camellia formosensis leaves, Anredera cordifolia, and Pueraria montana leaves. In vitro cell-based assays confirmed that all three plant extracts can effectively inhibit lipid droplet accumulation in liver cells. In an animal model of fatty liver induced by a Western diet, the extracts of Camellia formosensis leaves and Anredera cordifolia also demonstrated efficacy in ameliorating fatty liver. More importantly, the invention reveals that a combination of these three extracts in specific ratios exhibits a synergistic effect, showing significantly superior inhibition of lipid droplet accumulation in hepatocytes compared to any single extract alone.
