Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] This invention relates to a light source device, and more particularly to a locomotive lamp. [Previous Technology]

[0002] For vehicle driving, being able to clearly see the surrounding environment is extremely important, as it greatly affects driving safety. Therefore, in order to maximize safety, especially when driving at night, vehicles need to use headlights to make the surrounding environment bright and clearer.

[0003] When motorcycles and other vehicles are turning, their headlights tilt to one side as the vehicle body turns, causing the headlight's illumination area to also tilt, resulting in incomplete illumination of the surrounding environment ahead. This makes it difficult for the driver to accurately and promptly understand the road conditions and route, easily leading to traffic accidents and even serious personal injury or death. However, conventional headlights do not compensate for the insufficient illumination area caused by the motorcycle's tilt, resulting in blind spots and significant driving risks.

[0004] Therefore, it is necessary to provide a novel and progressive motorcycle lamp to solve the above-mentioned problems. [Summary of the Invention]

[0005] The main objective of this invention is to provide a vehicle light that can compensate for the deficiency of the illumination area shift caused by the tilting of the vehicle, so as to provide a wide-area illumination effect without blind spots and improve driving safety.

[0006] To achieve the above objective, the present invention provides a motorcycle lamp for installation on a motorcycle. The motorcycle lamp includes: a lamp holder including a mounting surface defining a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to each other; two main lamp source devices, spaced apart on the mounting surface, respectively located on opposite sides of the first direction; only two auxiliary lamp source devices, spaced apart on the mounting surface, respectively located on opposite sides of the second direction, each auxiliary lamp source device including multiple light-emitting elements and an auxiliary lamp source lens, the multiple light-emitting elements being arranged in a direction not parallel to the first direction, and the auxiliary lamp source lens covering the multiple light-emitting elements; a controller connected to and for controlling the two main lamp source devices and the two auxiliary lamp source devices; and a tilt angle detector connected to the controller for detecting and obtaining tilt angle data of the motorcycle; wherein the controller controls at least one of the light-emitting elements of one of the auxiliary lamp source devices to emit light based on the tilt angle data.

Implementation Method

[0007] The following examples illustrate possible implementations of the present invention, but are not intended to limit the scope of protection of the present invention. The words "a" or "at least one" preceding the terms mentioned herein are not intended to limit the quantity. Depending on the requirements, there may also be "multiple" items. This variation in quantity is also within the scope of protection, as will be stated in advance.

[0008] Please refer to Figures 1 to 15, which show one embodiment of the present invention. The motorcycle lamp 1 of the present invention is provided on a motorcycle. The motorcycle lamp 1 includes a lamp holder 10, two main lamp source devices 20, two auxiliary lamp source devices 30, a controller 40 and a tilt angle detector 50.

[0009] The lamp holder 10 includes a mounting surface 11. The lamp holder 10 defines a first direction D1 and a second direction D2 that are perpendicular to each other. In this embodiment, the first direction D1 (horizontal direction) and the second direction D2 (vertical direction) are perpendicular to each other. The two main lamp source devices 20 are disposed at intervals on the mounting surface 11. The two main lamp source devices 20 are respectively located on opposite sides of the first direction D1. The two main lamp source devices 20 are, for example, a low beam device and a high beam device. The two auxiliary lamp source devices 30 are disposed at intervals on the mounting surface 11. The two auxiliary lamp source devices 30 are respectively located on opposite sides of the second direction D2. Each auxiliary lamp source device 30 includes a plurality of light-emitting elements 31 and an auxiliary lamp source lens 32. The arrangement direction of the plurality of light-emitting elements 31 is not parallel to the first direction D1 (it is perpendicular or forms other angles). The auxiliary lamp source lens 32 covers the plurality of light-emitting elements 31. The controller 40 is connected to and controls the two main light source devices 20 and the two auxiliary light source devices 30. The tilt angle detector 50 is connected to the controller 40 (wired or wireless) and detects and obtains the tilt angle data of the locomotive. The controller 40 controls at least one of the light-emitting elements 31 of one of the auxiliary light source devices 30 to emit light based on the tilt angle data. This compensates for the deficiency of the main light source device 20's illumination area shifting when the locomotive is tilted, providing a wide-area, blind-spot-free illumination effect and improving driving safety. Furthermore, since only a single auxiliary light source device 30 is installed on each of the two opposite sides of the second direction D2, its structure and components are simple, easy to manufacture and assemble, and low in cost.

[0010] The mounting surface 11 includes multiple holes 111, and the two main light source devices 20 and the two auxiliary light source devices 30 are respectively housed in the multiple holes 111. Its structure is compact, its installation is stable, and its overall size is reduced. The two main light source devices 20 include a first main light source device 21 and a second main light source device 22. The ratio of the dimension of the first main light source device 21 along the first direction D1 to its dimension along the second direction D2 is defined as a first ratio, and the ratio of the dimension of the second main light source device 22 along the first direction D1 to its dimension along the second direction D2 is defined as a second ratio. The first ratio is greater than the second ratio. Therefore, the first main light source device 21 can provide a wider illumination range, and the second main light source device 22 can provide an illumination range with greater depth.

[0011] Preferably, the plurality of light-emitting elements 31 of the two auxiliary light source devices 30 are relatively far away from one of the main light source devices 20. For example, the first main light source device 21 is a near light device and is located relatively above, and the second main light source device 22 is a far light device and is located relatively below. Since the illumination intensity of the near light device is weaker (fewer light-emitting diodes 23, as shown in FIG9) than that of the far light device (more light-emitting diodes 23, as shown in FIG10), the two auxiliary light source devices 30 can effectively supplement the insufficient illumination area of the near light device.

[0012] In this embodiment, the two main light source devices 20 are light-emitting diode (LED) light source devices, each including at least one LED 23. The plurality of light-emitting elements 31 are LEDs. Each main light source device 20 further includes a main light source lens 24, which covers at least one LED 23 of the main light source device 20. LEDs have advantages such as small size, high power, strong illumination, and long lifespan.

[0013] Preferably, the tilt angle detector 50 is a gyroscope, or it can be a tilt sensor implemented with microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology or other devices capable of sensing tilt angle. When the vehicle tilts to one side (e.g., left or right) relative to the second direction D2, the controller 40 controls an auxiliary light source device 30 located on the same side of the second direction D2 to emit light. The tilt angle data includes a tilt angle value. Preferably, the controller 40 controls the multiple light-emitting elements 31 of the auxiliary light source device 30 to emit light as the tilt angle value of the tilt angle data increases. The number of light-emitting elements 31 emitting light is obtained from top to bottom.

[0014] In this embodiment, the line connecting the upper and lower ends of the two auxiliary light source devices 30 is defined as a first reference line L1. The first reference line L1 passes between the two main light source devices 20 but does not pass through either of the two main light source devices 20. With this positional configuration, all light source devices can provide a more comprehensive lighting supplement effect. The number of multiple light-emitting elements 31 in each auxiliary light source device 30 is three (or two or more). The line connecting the upper end of the multiple light-emitting elements 31 of one auxiliary light source device 30 and the lower end of the multiple light-emitting elements 31 of another auxiliary light source device 30 is defined as a second reference line L2. The angle between the second reference line L2 and the first direction D1 is not greater than 15 degrees, providing sufficient supplementary lighting range and better lighting brightness.

[0015] Preferably, the mounting surface 11 further includes a partition structure 112, which extends between any two adjacent main light source devices 20 and the two auxiliary light source devices 30, thereby accurately projecting the illumination area of each main light source device 20 and each auxiliary light source device 30, providing precise and effective lighting effects.

[0016] Refer to Figure 11 again. In operation, the controller 40 is connected to a connector 60 of the locomotive. The connector 60 is a power supply or communication connection to the locomotive's control components (switch, button or touch device). The controller 40 can switch to activate one of the main light source devices 20 (low beam device or high beam device) according to the user's operation. The locomotive's power supply is supplied to the main light source device 20 through the connector 60 and a circuit unit 70. In this embodiment, the circuit unit 70 includes a reverse voltage protection unit 71 connected to the connector 60, a surge protection unit 72 connected to the reverse voltage protection unit 71, an electromagnetic wave filter 73 connected to the surge protection unit 72, a voltage detection unit 74 connected between the surge protection unit 72 and the electromagnetic wave filter 73, and a DC-DC unit 75 connected to the electromagnetic wave filter 73. The controller 40 is also connected between the connector 60 and the reverse voltage protection unit 71, and between the reverse voltage protection unit 71 and the surge protection unit 72. The surge protection unit 72 is grounded through the connector 60 (or through other paths or directly grounded). The DC-DC unit 75 is connected to the two main lamp source devices 20 and the two auxiliary lamp source devices 30. In detail, the DC-DC unit 75 includes a DC-DC controller 751 and an external DC-DC component 752. The DC-DC controller 751 is connected to the voltage detection unit 74, and the external DC-DC component 752 is connected to the electromagnetic wave filter 73 and the DC-DC controller 751. The external DC-DC component 752 is also connected to the two main lamp source devices 20 and the two auxiliary lamp source devices 30. This provides stable voltage, prevents component damage caused by surges, reduces electromagnetic interference, and supplies different required luminous power.

[0017] When the tilt angle detector 50 detects the tilt of the locomotive, it obtains the tilt angle data and transmits it to the controller 40. The controller 40 controls the light-emitting element 31 of the auxiliary lamp source device 30 located on the tilt side to emit light based on the tilt angle data. Examples, but not limited to, the following embodiments are provided. As shown in Figure 12, when the locomotive's tilt angle is 0 degrees, the illumination area 25 of the main light source device 20 is not tilted, and all the multiple light-emitting elements 31 do not emit light. As shown in Figure 13, when the locomotive's tilt angle is 5 degrees, the illumination area 25 of the main light source device 20 is tilted by 5 degrees, and the controller 40 controls the uppermost light-emitting element 31 to emit light to provide a first compensation illumination area 33. As shown in Figure 14, when the locomotive's tilt angle is 10 degrees, the illumination area 25 of the main light source device 20 is tilted by 10 degrees, and the controller 40 controls the upper two light-emitting elements 31 to emit light to provide a second compensation illumination area 34. As shown in Figure 15, when the locomotive's tilt angle is 15 degrees, the illumination area 25 of the main light source device 20 is tilted by 15 degrees, and the controller 40 controls all (three) light-emitting elements 31 to emit light to provide a third compensation illumination area 35. That is, the greater the tilt angle of the locomotive and the greater the offset of the lighting area, the more light-emitting elements 31 are activated to effectively supplement the insufficient lighting area.
