Dehydration aids

Abstract

The object of this invention is to provide a dehydration aid that can effectively dehydrate liquid compositions containing inorganic substances. Specifically, this invention provides: a dehydration aid for liquid compositions containing inorganic substances, which contains cellulose materials such as pulp with a carbamate value greater than 1; and a method for dehydrating liquid compositions containing inorganic substances, comprising contacting the dehydration aid and a flocculant together with the liquid composition containing inorganic substances. The pulp preferably has a brightness of 10-95%, and more preferably is hardwood pulp or softwood pulp. The cellulose material preferably satisfies any one of the following: fiber length of 0.2-5 mm and fiber width of 10-50 μm.
