Copolymer, preparation method thereof, coating composition, article comprising the same and method of using the same

Abstract

This invention relates to copolymers, methods for preparing them, and coating compositions comprising them. The copolymers comprise repeating units derived from silica-functionalized monomers, hydrophilic organic monomers, hydrophobic organic monomers, and reactive surfactant monomers. The copolymers and coating compositions can be used to impart improved resistance to whitening under high humidity. This invention also relates to articles comprising a coating film formed from the coating composition, and methods for imparting resistance to whitening to the surface of a substrate or article.
