Antistatic composition

Abstract

This invention provides an antistatic agent composition that, when added to an adhesive layer, imparts effective antistatic surface resistance and appropriate peel strength. The antistatic composition of this invention comprises: a cyclic carbonate compound as shown in formula (I) below, and an ionic compound consisting of an organic cation and a tetraoxy cyclic borate anion as shown in formula (II) below; (in formula (I), R1 represents a hydrocarbon group, hydroxyl group, or carboxyl group containing an oxygen atom, and R2 represents a hydrocarbon group, hydroxyl group, carboxyl group, or hydrogen atom that may contain an oxygen atom); (in formula (II), R3 and R4 are the same or different, and are any one of the divalent organic groups shown in formulas (2-1) to (2-4) as described in the specification).
