Dissolvable fecal leukocyte esterase test paper

Abstract

The present invention provides a dissolvable fecal leukocyte esterase test paper, comprising a substrate layer, and a front detection layer and a back detection layer disposed on opposite sides of the substrate layer, respectively. The substrate layer has hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties to allow the test paper to float on a liquid surface during testing, and a colorimetric reference area is provided thereon. The front detection layer and the back detection layer are each coated with a chemical reagent for reacting with fecal leukocyte esterase to produce a color change. During testing, a user can place the test paper on a fecal sample, capture the color development result with a handheld device, and use the colorimetric reference area as a color baseline for conversion. Accordingly, the test paper of the present invention can effectively block interfering substances in feces and provide a non-invasive, user-friendly, and quantifiable home testing solution.
