Methods and tools for assessing potential terrain risks

Abstract

This invention proposes a method and tool for assessing potential terrain risks. The method includes creating a wind and seismic force north-pointing map based on wind and seismic information for the region; and overlaying the wind and seismic force north-pointing map onto a map of the region to obtain a wind direction trend and a stratum movement direction trend at any location within the region. The wind and seismic force north-pointing map includes a crosshair indicating east, west, south, and north; a seismic direction line extending in a directional direction relative to the crosshair; and multiple wind direction lines located at specific locations relative to the intersections of the crosshair. Using this method, the wind direction trend or stratum movement direction trend at any location within a region can be obtained to determine the impact of natural external forces.
