Abstract

The super-optical element of the present invention comprises: a support substrate having a first surface; and a pattern layer disposed on the first surface, and including a plurality of pillars protruding from the first surface in the thickness direction of the support substrate; the pillar height C of the pillars is 2.0 μm or more; when observing a cross-section of the pillar orthogonal to the height direction at a position where the pillar is 0.9C away from the first surface, the distance through the centroid of the cross-section and the shortest distance in the cross-section is defined as distance A; and when observing a cross-section of the pillar orthogonal to the height direction at a position where the pillar is 0.1C away from the first surface, the distance through the centroid of the cross-section and the shortest distance in the cross-section is defined as distance B; and the aspect ratio expressed as "C / ((A+B) / 2)" is 5.0 or more.
