Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to a housing device, and more particularly to a dual-cavity housing device. Prior Technology

[0002] An existing housing device (as shown in Taiwan Patent Publication No. TWI838148B) is used for mounting on a curbstone. This existing housing device includes an electrical control box unit and a detachable cover unit disposed on the electrical control box unit. The electrical control box unit defines a chamber for mounting a camera module.

[0003] However, adding other functions to the existing housing assembly would require additional components within the electrical control unit. These components have their own inspection and replacement cycles, leading to increased frequency of operation and potential water leakage, as well as insufficient space within the enclosure. Clearly, the existing housing assembly requires further improvement. Summary of the Invention

[0004] Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a dual-chamber housing device that defines different chambers.

[0005] Therefore, the dual-cavity shell-type mounting device of the present invention is suitable for installation on a curbstone, the curbstone including a top surface, a front surface connected to the top surface along a front-rear direction, and a mounting groove formed at the junction of the top surface and the front surface. The dual-cavity shell-type mounting device includes a base unit and a mounting unit. The base unit is used to be disposed in the mounting groove and includes a lower cavity member defining a lower cavity and extending along a vertical direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction, and two connecting portions fixed to the lower cavity member. The mounting unit is disposed on the upper side of the base unit along the vertical direction and includes an upper cavity member defining an upper cavity and extending along the vertical direction, an upper cover disposed on the upper side of the upper cavity member along the vertical direction, and two connecting portions fixed to the upper cavity member. The upper cavity member has an upper bottom wall and an upper surrounding wall fixed to the upper side of the upper bottom wall along the vertical direction. The connecting portions are connectably disposed on the connecting portions. The mounting unit can switch between a first operating state and a second operating state relative to the base unit. In the first operating state, the upper bottom wall closes the lower chamber of the base unit. In the second operating state, the upper bottom wall moves away from the lower chamber of the base unit.

[0006] The advantages of this invention are: the base unit and the mounting unit define the lower chamber and the upper chamber respectively, and the connecting parts are movably disposed on the connecting parts so that the upper bottom wall can selectively close or move away from the lower chamber, thereby facilitating the inspection or replacement of components located in different chambers. Implementation

[0008] Referring to Figure 1, an embodiment of the dual-cavity housing device of the present invention is applicable to installation on a curbstone 91. The curbstone 91 includes a top surface 911, a front surface 912 connected to the top surface 911 along a front-rear direction D1, and a mounting groove 913 formed at the junction of the top surface 911 and the front surface 912.

[0009] Referring to Figure 2, this embodiment includes a base unit 1, a mounting base unit 2, an optical unit 3, and an electronic unit 4.

[0010] Referring to Figures 2 and 3, the base unit 1 is used to be disposed in the mounting groove 913, and includes a lower cavity member 11 that defines a lower cavity 111 and extends along a vertical direction D2 perpendicular to the front-rear direction D1; a lower cover 12 disposed on the upper side of the lower cavity member 11 along the vertical direction D2 and closing the lower cavity 111; a support frame 13 fixed to the upper side of the lower cavity member 11 along the vertical direction D2 and positioned corresponding to the lower cover 12; and two connecting portions 14 fixed to the lower cavity member 11. In a variation of this embodiment, the lower cover 12 can be omitted and the mounting base unit 2 can be used to cover and close the lower cavity 111.

[0011] The lower cavity 11 has a lower bottom wall 112 and a lower surrounding wall 113 fixed to the upper side of the lower bottom wall 112 and extending along the vertical direction D2. The lower surrounding wall 113 defines a lower wire hole 114, a lower through hole 115 and a rear reinforcement hole 116. The lower cavity 111 is used for the placement of the electronic unit 4.

[0012] The lower cover 12 has a lower cover body 121 and a lower rubber plate portion 122 fixed to the lower side of the lower cover body 121.

[0013] The support frame 13 has a connecting wall 131 and two support arms 134 fixed to the connecting wall 131. Each support arm 134 defines an abutment groove 135. In this embodiment, the connecting wall 131 defines an upper through hole 132 corresponding to the lower through hole 115 and a front reinforcement hole 133 corresponding to the rear reinforcement hole 116. The connecting wall 131 is detachably disposed on the support arms 134 so as to be replaced with the connecting wall 131 having a different top surface profile.

[0014] The connecting parts 14 are respectively fixed to the supporting arms 134. Each connecting part 14 has a rotating shaft 141 and a stop surface 142.

[0015] The mounting unit 2 is disposed on the upper side of the base unit 1 along the vertical direction D2, and includes an upper cavity member 21 that defines an upper cavity 211, an upper cover 22 disposed on the upper side of the upper cavity member 21 along the vertical direction D2, an upper pad 23 disposed between the upper cover 22 and the upper cavity member 21, a fixing module 24 for connecting the upper cover 22, the upper pad 23, the upper cavity member 21 and the support frame 13, and two connected portions 25 that are fixed to the upper cavity member 21 and can be connected to the connecting portions 14.

[0016] The upper cavity member 21 has an upper bottom wall 212 and an upper surrounding wall 214 fixed to the upper side of the upper bottom wall 212 along the vertical direction D2.

[0017] The upper chamber 211 is used to house the optical unit 3.

[0018] The upper bottom wall 212 defines an upper wire hole 213 adjacent to the lower wire hole 114. The upper wire hole 213 and the lower wire hole 114 are used together to allow a wire (not shown) to pass through so that the optical unit 3 and the electronic unit 4 are electrically connected to each other.

[0019] The upper enclosure 214 defines two mutually spaced light-transmitting portions 215 and two lower through holes 216 extending along the vertical direction D2.

[0020] The upper cover 22 is pivotally mounted on the upper enclosure 214 and located above the upper pad 23, defining a notch 221 and two upper screw holes 222 corresponding to the lower through holes 216. The upper cover 22 has an upper cover body 223 and two protective plates 224 protruding from the upper cover body 223 along the front-rear direction D1 and respectively abutting against the abutment grooves 135. By providing the abutment grooves 135 and the protective plates 224, when a vehicle gets too close to the curb 91 and collides with this embodiment, the upper cover 22 and the support arms 134 cooperate to bear the component force applied by the vehicle in the vertical direction D2 of this embodiment, thereby preventing damage to the optical unit 3 located in the upper chamber 211.

[0021] The upper pad 23 includes an upper pad body 231 and an upper adhesive plate portion 232 fixed to the lower side of the upper pad body 231. The upper pad 23 defines a notch 233 with a position corresponding to the lower through hole 115, the upper through hole 132 and the notch 221, and two through holes 234 with positions corresponding to the lower through holes 216 and the upper screw holes 222. By setting the upper pad 23 and the connecting wall 131 with corresponding outlines, when the upper cover 22 abuts against the upper pad 23, the top surface of the upper cover 22 and the top surface of the connecting wall 131 are flush with the top surface 911 of the stone.

[0022] It is worth mentioning that, in a variation of this embodiment, the upper pad 23 can be replaced by covering the upper side of the upper enclosure 214, so as to replace the upper pad 23 with another upper pad having a different top surface profile.

[0023] The fixing module 24 includes a screw 241 for passing through the lower through hole 115, the upper through hole 132, the notch 233, and the notch 221; a locking nut 242 for screwing onto the top of the screw 241; two auxiliary screws 243 for passing through the lower through holes 216, the middle through holes 234, and the upper screw holes 222; and a reinforcing screw 244 for passing through the rear reinforcing hole 116 and the front reinforcing hole 133. By providing the locking nut 242 and the screw 241, the upper cover 22, the upper pad 23, the upper cavity member 21, the connecting wall 131, and the lower cavity member 11 are securely connected. On the other hand, by providing the auxiliary screws 243, the upper cover 22, the upper pad 23, and the upper cavity member 21 are more securely connected. On the other hand, by setting the reinforcing screw 244, the lower cavity 11 and the support frame 13 are more securely connected.

[0024] Each connected portion 25 has a rotating arc surface 251 that is rotatably provided for limiting the respective rotating shaft 141, and a positioning post 252 for abutting against the respective stop surface 142. In this embodiment, the connected portions 25 are fixed to the upper enclosure wall 214.

[0025] The rotating arc surfaces 251 are used to rotate relative to the rotating shafts 141 (the rotating shafts 141 define the pivot points), thereby allowing the upper cavity member 21 to switch between a first operating state and a second operating state relative to the support frame 13. In the first operating state, the upper bottom wall 212 of the mounting unit 2 abuts against the lower cover 12, thereby covering and closing the lower cavity 111, and the positioning posts 252 are moved away from the stop surfaces 142. In the second operating state, the upper bottom wall 212 of the mounting unit 2 is moved away from the lower cavity 111, making the lower cover 12 or the lower cavity 111 substantially exposed, and the positioning posts 252 abut against the stop surfaces 142 respectively. Therefore, by providing the rotating arc surfaces 251 and the rotating shafts 141, the upper cavity member 21 can rotate relative to the support frame 13. Secondly, by providing the positioning posts 252 and the stop surfaces 142, the upper cavity member 21 is prevented from separating from the support frame 13 when it rotates relative to the support frame 13.

[0026] In a variation of this embodiment, the rotating arc surface 251 of each connected portion 25 is replaced by another rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft 141 of each connecting portion 14 is replaced by another rotating arc surface. Each connected portion 25 can still have a corresponding rotational relationship with the other connecting portion 14. In another variation of this embodiment (not shown), each connected portion 25 has a locking groove, and each connecting portion 14 has a locking block with a structure corresponding to the locking groove. Each connected portion 25 can have a corresponding locking relationship with the other connecting portion 14.

[0027] The optical unit 3 is located in the upper chamber 211 and includes a camera lens 31 located in the upper chamber 211 and facing one of the light-transmitting portions 215, and a sensing element (not shown) located in the upper chamber 211. In this embodiment, the camera lens 31 is used to capture images through one of the light-transmitting portions 215. The sensing element is an ultrasonic sensor, a thermal sensor, an infrared sensor, a millimeter-wave sensor, or a geomagnetic sensor. In a variation of this embodiment, the optical unit 3 includes two camera lenses 31 located in the upper chamber 211 and facing the light-transmitting portions 215 respectively, and the camera lenses 31 are used to capture images through the light-transmitting portions 215 respectively. In another variation of this embodiment, the optical unit 3 further includes a projection lens located in the upper chamber 211 and facing the other light-transmitting portion 215, and the projection lens is used to project images through the other light-transmitting portion 215.

[0028] The electronic unit 4 is located in the lower chamber 111 and includes a battery module 41 and a control module 42 electrically connected to the battery module 41 and the camera lens 31. The control module 42 is used to control the camera lens 31 to take pictures. In this embodiment, the control module 42 is implemented using an integrated circuit with computing and storage capabilities, and illustratively includes hardware components such as a processor, memory, communication module, input interface, and output interface (not shown in the figures).

[0029] Referring to Figure 3, in actual use, the fixing module 24 tightens and connects the upper cover 22, the upper pad 23, the upper cavity member 21, the connecting wall 131, and the lower cavity member 11, so that the upper rubber plate portion 232 of the upper pad 23 abuts against the upper surrounding wall 214, thereby more reliably sealing the upper cavity 211. On the other hand, the fixing module 24 restricts the upper bottom wall 212 to abut against the upper side of the lower cover 12, so that the lower rubber plate portion 122 of the lower cover 12 abuts against the lower surrounding wall 113, thereby more reliably sealing the lower cavity 111.

[0030] Referring to Figures 3, 4 to 6, when it is necessary to replace the optical unit 3, it is only necessary to remove the locking nut 242 and the auxiliary screws 243 of the fixing module 24, so that the upper cover 22 can be rotated relative to the upper wall 214 to expose the upper pad 23 (as shown in Figure 6), thereby easily removing the upper pad 23 and replacing the optical unit 3 located in the upper cavity 211.

[0031] Referring to Figures 3, 7 and 8, when it is necessary to replace the electronic unit 4, it is only necessary to remove the locking nut 242 of the fixing module 24, so that the upper cavity part 21 can be rotated relative to the support frame 13 to expose the lower cover 12, thereby easily removing the lower cover 12 and replacing the electronic unit 4 located in the lower cavity 111.

[0032] Therefore, by rotating the rotating arc surfaces 251 of the connected portions 25 relative to the rotating shafts 141 of the connecting portions 14, or by rotating the upper cover 22 relative to the upper enclosure 214, it is easy to inspect or replace components located in different chambers (the lower chamber 111 and the upper chamber 211).

[0033] In summary, this embodiment has the following advantages:

[0034] (a) The base unit 1 and the mounting unit 2 define the lower chamber 111 and the upper chamber 211 respectively, and the rotating arc surfaces 251 of the connected parts 25 rotate relative to the rotating shafts 141 of the connecting parts 14, or the upper cover 22 rotates relative to the upper wall 214, thereby facilitating the inspection or replacement of components located in different chambers (the lower chamber 111 and the upper chamber 211).

[0035] (ii) By setting the upper pad 23 and the connecting wall 131 with corresponding outlines, when the upper cover 22 abuts against the upper pad 23, the top surface of the upper cover 22 (which defines a different angle of inclination relative to the lower bottom wall 112) and the top surface of the connecting wall 131 are flush with the top surface of the stone 911.

[0036] Therefore, the convenience of lifting, inspecting, or replacing components located in different chambers in the dual-chamber housing device of the present invention truly achieves the purpose of the present invention.

[0037] However, the above description is merely an embodiment of the present invention and should not be construed as limiting the scope of the present invention. Any simple equivalent changes and modifications made in accordance with the scope of the patent application and the contents of the patent specification of the present invention shall still fall within the scope of the patent of the present invention.
