Method and system for preventing pinching at bus doors using image recognition technology

Abstract

A system for preventing pinching at bus doors using image recognition technology includes at least one camera and a control module. The camera contains an image recognition unit, positioned high up on the door and aimed at the ground to capture dynamic images. The image recognition unit is used to identify when at least one identifiable target is present within a monitored area in the dynamic images, issuing a pinching prevention signal. The control module is connected to the camera and the door's opening and closing controller. When it receives a closing signal from the controller, it determines whether a pinching prevention signal has been received. If so, it sends a stop operation signal to the controller to halt the closing of the door until the pinching prevention signal disappears, thereby preventing the door from closing on an identifiable target.
