Abstract

The front end (41) of the upper side (the side opposite to the electrode body side in the axial direction) of the pre-deformation gasket (28) used in the cylindrical battery can be divided into 9 divisions (virtual divisions) (a1~a9). The aforementioned 9 divisions (a1~a9) are 9 divisions in the circumferential direction with approximately the same circumferential length. In each of the 9 divisions (a1~a9), there is more than one recess (40) in each of the 3 divisions located in the circumferential direction at approximately equal intervals. When N is set to an integer of 3 or more, the plurality of recesses (40) provided on the gasket (28) can also include N approximately identical and equally arranged recesses (42) in the circumferential direction at approximately equal intervals.
