Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to an image processing device, and more particularly to an image transmission system and method with adjustable arrangement mode and resolution. Prior Technology

[0002] Existing image transmission systems include transmitters, network cables, and receivers. The transmitter is located at a local location and is used to connect to the image source, while the receiver is located at a remote location and is used to connect to the display device. The appropriate length of the network cable is selected based on the distance between the local and remote locations.

[0003] Since existing image transmission systems can only transmit one image at a time, when a user needs to transmit two images simultaneously, two separate image transmission systems must be used to transmit the two images.

[0004] If two images need to be displayed on two different display devices at the same resolution, an additional image resolution adjustment device is required. This device first adjusts the resolution of the two images to be identical, and then transmits each image to one of the two display devices. However, for beginners, it takes a considerable amount of time to learn how to set up the image resolution adjustment device, and such devices are also quite expensive. Summary of the Invention

[0005] The technical problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an image transmission system and an image transmission method in view of the prior art.

[0006] To address the aforementioned technical problems, one technical solution adopted by this invention is to provide an image transmission system. The image transmission system includes a transmitter, a transmission line, and a receiver. The transmitter is connected to an electronic device and simultaneously receives multiple original image frames from the electronic device, as well as audio signals and control signals from the electronic device. The transmitter includes an arrangement mode selection device, which selects one of multiple image arrangement modes to assemble the multiple original image frames into a corrected image frame. The transmission line connects the transmitter and the receiver. The receiver is connected to multiple display devices and receives the corrected image frame, audio signals, and control signals. The receiver includes a resolution selection device configured to provide multiple different image resolutions. The receiver is configured to control the multiple display devices to display the multiple original image frames according to the selected image arrangement mode and image resolution.

[0007] To address the aforementioned technical problems, another technical solution adopted by the present invention is to provide an image transmission method. The image transmission method includes: simultaneously receiving multiple original image frames from an electronic device via a transmitter, as well as receiving audio signals and control signals from the electronic device; selecting one from multiple image arrangement modes via an arrangement mode selection device of the transmitter, so as to assemble the multiple original image frames into a corrected image frame; transmitting the corrected image frame, audio signals, and control signals via a transmission line; receiving the corrected image frame, audio signals, and control signals via a receiver; selecting one from multiple image resolutions via a resolution selection device of the receiver; and controlling multiple display devices via the receiver to display the multiple original image frames respectively according to the selected image arrangement mode and image resolution.

[0008] One of the advantages of the present invention is that the image transmission system and image transmission method provided by the present invention do not require additional image resolution adjustment equipment. As long as the arrangement mode selection device on the transmitter and the resolution selection device on the receiver are set in advance, multiple different image sources at the local location can be presented to the display device at the remote location in various arrangement methods and resolutions according to customized needs.

[0021] Transmitter 1 includes a processing circuit 11, a storage circuit 12, an array mode selection device 13, a keyboard port 14, a mouse port 15, a display device port 16, a display device port 17, a network port 18, a first audio / video input interface P1, a second audio / video input interface P2, a first universal serial bus interface P3, and a first audio input interface P4. The processing circuit 11 is connected to the storage circuit 12, the array mode selection device 13, the keyboard port 14, the mouse port 15, the display device port 16, the display device port 17, the network port 18, the first audio / video input interface P1, the second audio / video input interface P2, the first universal serial bus interface P3, and the first audio input interface P4. The processing circuit 11 is, for example, a programmable logic controller circuit, a microprocessor circuit, a microcontroller circuit, or other processor or controller with signal processing capabilities, while the storage circuit 12 is, for example, random access memory (RAM), read-only memory (ROM), flash memory, a hard disk, or other storage devices with data storage capabilities. The first audio / video input interface P1 and the second audio / video input interface P2 are, for example, two HDMI ports, or one HDMI port and the other a DisplayPort port.

[0022] The arrangement mode selection device 13 includes a first knob 131 and multiple arrangement mode scales L1 to L5, each corresponding to a different image arrangement mode. The user can rotate the first knob 131 to align it with one of the multiple arrangement mode scales L1 to L5 in order to select one of the multiple image arrangement modes.

[0023] Keyboard port 14, mouse port 15, display device port 16, display device port 17, and network port 18 are respectively configured to connect keyboard K, mouse M, first display device V1, second display device V2, and transmission line 2. The universal serial bus interface and the audio output interface of the first computer are respectively connected to the first universal serial bus interface P3 and the first audio input interface P4.

[0024] The user operates the keyboard K and the mouse M, causing the first electronic device C1 to simultaneously transmit the first original image M1 and the second original image M2 to the transmitter 1, as well as to transmit the control signal K1 (e.g., USB signal) and the sound signal K2 to the transmitter 1. The first display device V1 and the second display device V2 simultaneously and respectively display the first original image M1 and the second original image M2.

[0025] The processing circuit 11 of the transmitter 1 accesses the storage circuit 12 to perform the following multiple operations. [0026] Regarding the second operation, the processing circuit 11 arranges the first original image frame M1 and the second original image frame M2 according to the selected image arrangement mode to generate the corrected image frame U. For example, when the selected image arrangement mode is side-by-side along the horizontal direction (e.g., the X-axis direction), the corrected image U consists of the first original image frame M1 and the second original image frame M2 arranged side-by-side horizontally. Therefore, the user must arrange the third display device V3 and the fourth display device V4 side-by-side along the horizontal direction in advance.

[0027] Similarly, when the selected image arrangement mode is side-by-side along the vertical direction (e.g., the Y-axis direction), the corrected image screen consists of the first original image screen M1 and the second original image screen M2 arranged side-by-side vertically. Therefore, the user must arrange the third display device V3 and the fourth display device V4 side-by-side vertically in advance.

[0028] Receiver 3 includes processing circuitry 31, storage circuitry 32, resolution selection device 33, network port 34, two display device ports 35 and 36, universal serial bus interface 37, and audio output interface 38. Processing circuitry 31 is connected to storage circuitry 32, resolution selection device 33, network port 34, two display device ports 35 and 36, universal serial bus interface 37, and audio output interface 38. Processing circuitry 31 can be, for example, a programmable logic controller circuit, microprocessor circuit, microcontroller circuit, or other processor or controller with signal processing capabilities. [0029] The resolution selection device 33 includes a second knob 331 and multiple resolution scales R1 to R5, each corresponding to a different image resolution. The user can rotate the second knob 331 to align it with one of the multiple resolution scales R1 to R5 to select one of the multiple image resolutions.

[0030] Network port 34 and two display device ports 35 and 36 are respectively configured to connect transmission line 2, third display device V3 and fourth display device V4.

[0031] The processing circuit 31 of the receiver 3 accesses the storage circuit 32 to perform the following multiple operations. Regarding the first operation, the processing circuit 31 acquires the corrected image frame U, the control signal K1, and the audio signal K2 from the transmitter 1, wherein the corrected image frame U is composed of a first original image frame M1 and a second original image frame M2.

[0032] Regarding the second operation, the processing circuit 31 controls the third display device V3 and the fourth display device V4 to display the first original image frame M1 and the second original image frame M2 respectively, according to the selected image arrangement mode and image resolution. For example, when the selected image arrangement mode is horizontal side-by-side and the selected image resolution is 4k, the horizontally side-by-side third display device V3 and the fourth display device V4 display the first original image frame M1 and the second original image frame M2 respectively, and the resolution is 4k. When the selected image arrangement mode is vertical side-by-side and the selected image resolution is 1080p, the vertically side-by-side third display device V3 and the fourth display device V4 display the first original image frame M1 and the second original image frame M2 respectively, and the resolution is 1080p.

[0033] Figure 3 is a schematic diagram of a second embodiment of the image transmission system of the present invention, and Figure 4 is a functional block diagram of the image transmission system of Figure 3. Comparing Figure 4 and Figure 2, the transmitter 1 of Figure 4 further includes a switching switch SW, a third audio / video input interface P5, a fourth audio / video input interface P6, a second universal serial bus interface P7, and a second audio input interface P8. The processing circuit 11 is connected to the switching switch SW, and the switching switch SW is also connected to the first audio / video input interface P1, the second audio / video input interface P2, the first universal serial bus interface P3, the first audio input interface P4, the third audio / video input interface P5, the fourth audio / video input interface P6, the second universal serial bus interface P7, and the second audio input interface P8. The switching switch SW is, for example, a single-pole multi-throw mechanical switch. The user can operate the switching switch SW to electrically connect the processing circuit 11 to the first audio / video input interface P1, the second audio / video input interface P2, the first universal serial bus interface P3, and the first audio input interface P4, or to the third audio / video input interface P5, the fourth audio / video input interface P6, the second universal serial bus interface P7, and the second audio input interface P8.
