Abstract

A balanced photo-detector device comprises: a first photodetector and a second photodetector which are arranged in balanced configuration and mutually coupled at a differential node which is configured to provide a differential output; and a radio frequency bandwidth extension circuitry coupled to the differential node and configured to output, based on the differential output, a net differential output at a net differential output node.
