Abstract

This invention allows for the storage of large helmets within a storage compartment, avoiding interference with equipment positioned below the compartment. The straddle-type vehicle 1 of this invention includes a seat 5, a storage compartment 21, a rear wheel 8, and a rear fender 7. The storage compartment 21 is positioned below the seat 5. The rear fender 7 is positioned below the storage compartment 21. The rear fender 7 can move up and down together with the rear wheel 8. Implementation Method

Claims

1. A straddle-type vehicle, comprising: Seat; Storage compartment located below the seat; Rear wheels; The rear fender is positioned below the storage compartment and can move up and down with the rear wheel. The bottom surface of the storage compartment includes a downwardly bulging portion and an upwardly recessed portion. The rear fender includes a fender ridge located at the uppermost position of the rear fender and a front fender portion extending forward and downward from the fender ridge. The bulging portion is positioned above the front fender portion, and the recessed portion is positioned in front of the bulging portion.

2. As in claim 1, the straddle-type vehicle further includes: engine; and an engine auxiliary machine, which is connected to the engine; the engine auxiliary machine is disposed within the recess.

3. The straddle-type vehicle as claimed in claim 1, further comprising an air cleaner disposed below the storage compartment, the air cleaner being disposed below the bulge and having a shape that avoids the bulge, the bulge being disposed that avoids the movable range of the rear fender.

4. As in claim 3, the straddle-type vehicle, wherein the upper surface of the air cleaner has a shape that curves downwards to avoid the bulge.

5. As claimed in claim 3, the straddle-type vehicle, wherein the air cleaner includes a cleaner body and an extension extending from the cleaner body in the left-right direction of the vehicle, the extension being disposed below the bulge, and the upper surface of the extension having a shape that curves downwards to avoid the bulge.

6. As in claim 5, in a straddle-type vehicle, at the uppermost position of the movable range of the air cleaner, at least a portion of the cleaner body overlaps with the bulge when the vehicle is viewed from the side.

7. The straddle-type vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the bottom surface of the storage compartment includes an inclined surface that faces rearward and slopes upward, and the bulge protrudes downward from the inclined surface.
