Abstract

This invention is a dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter for transmitting electrical energy from a power connector to an electric vehicle connector, where the electrical energy can be selected from AC slow charging or DC fast charging. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter includes a housing, a touch switch module, and a protocol conversion communication module. The housing has a fast charging interface and a slow charging interface. The touch switch module includes a first touch switch and a second touch switch for switching the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter between AC slow charging and DC fast charging. The protocol conversion communication module is used to enable communication between the power connector (using the first communication protocol) and the electric vehicle connector (using the second communication protocol). During DC fast charging, the power connector activates both the first and second touch switches; during AC slow charging, the power connector only activates the first touch switch.

Claims

1. A dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter for transmitting electrical energy from a power connector to an electric vehicle connector, wherein the power connector is a first communication protocol among a plurality of communication protocol specifications, and the electric vehicle connector is a second communication protocol among a plurality of communication protocol specifications, the power connector being selected from an AC slow charging and a DC fast charging type, the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter comprising: a housing, a first end of the housing for electrically coupling to the power connector and having a fast charging interface and a slow charging interface, a second end of the housing for electrically coupling to the electric vehicle connector, wherein the first end and the power connector respectively have a protocol specification terminal capable of corresponding electrical coupling; A touch switch module, disposed at the bottom of the first end relative to the power connector, includes a first touch switch and a second touch switch for switching the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter between AC slow charging and DC fast charging; and a protocol conversion communication module electrically coupled to the touch switch module and the protocol specification terminal for communication between the power connector of the first communication protocol and the electric vehicle connector of the second communication protocol. When the power connector is plugged into the first end, if the power connector is in DC fast charging mode, the power connector will activate the first and second touch switches, thus enabling the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter to be in DC fast charging mode. Furthermore, the protocol conversion module will allow the power connector using the first communication protocol and the electric vehicle connector using the second communication protocol to communicate with each other. When the power connector is plugged into the first end, if the power connector is in AC slow charging mode, the power connector will only activate the first touch switch, thus enabling the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter to be in AC slow charging mode. Furthermore, the protocol conversion module will allow the power connector using the first communication protocol and the electric vehicle connector using the second communication protocol to communicate with each other.

2. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the first communication protocol is a European standard communication protocol and the second communication protocol is an American standard communication protocol.

3. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the protocol specification terminal of the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter is disposed within the slow charging interface.

4. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the first communication protocol is a US standard communication protocol and the second communication protocol is a European standard communication protocol.

5. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the protocol conversion communication module is a circuit board having at least one chip and at least one battery.

6. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter further comprises a limiting structure, the limiting structure being disposed around the periphery of the fast charging interface and the slow charging interface.

7. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 6, wherein the limiting structure further comprises a main body and a movable cover plate, the lower end of the movable cover plate being movably connected to the main body and being lifted to cover the surface of the fast charging interface.

8. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, further comprising a warning indicator light, a controller, and a sensor. The controller is electrically connected to the warning indicator light, the sensor, and the touch switch module. The sensor is installed near the fast charging port. When the sensor senses that the power connector is plugged into the fast charging port, if the controller does not receive an electrical signal indicating that the touch switch module is touched by the power connector, the controller will control the warning indicator light to display a warning light.

9. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the second end has an interface for AC slow charging and DC fast charging corresponding to the electric vehicle connector.

10. The dual-touch switch electric vehicle charging adapter as described in claim 1, wherein the protocol specification terminal includes a proximity pilot (PP) and a control pilot (CP) pin, and the protocol conversion communication module communicates with the power connector of the first communication protocol and the electric vehicle connector of the second communication protocol based on the signals of the proximity pilot and the control pilot.
