Abstract

A golf club head and its manufacturing method are disclosed. The manufacturing method includes an opening step and an adjustment step. In the opening step, a plurality of recessed microstructural features are machined on the surface of a striking face, such that the coefficient of reflex (COR) of the striking face is greater than 0.8226 and the characteristic time (CT) is greater than 258 microseconds. In the adjustment step, an adjustment member made of a non-metallic material with a Shore D hardness of 40 to 70 degrees and elasticity is applied to the striking face, thereby obtaining a striking component with a COR greater than 0.8226 and a characteristic time less than 257 microseconds. These microstructural features enable the striking face to have high COR performance, while the elastic and shock-absorbing adjustment member precisely reduces the characteristic time to the compliant upper limit, thereby enabling the striking component to achieve top-level performance with a high COR and compliant characteristic time.

Claims

1. A golf club head, comprising: a club head body; and a striking component disposed on the club head body, including a metal striking face disposed on the club head body, and an adjustment member covered on the striking face having a Shore D hardness of 40 to 70 degrees, the striking face having a plurality of recessed microstructural features on its surface, the striking component having a coefficient of reflex greater than 0.8226 and a characteristic time less than 257 microseconds, and the adjustment member being elastic and made of a non-metallic material.

2. The golf club head as claimed in claim 1, wherein, The striking panel of the striking component has an outward-facing front and a back opposite to the front. The microstructural features are formed on the front or the back. The adjustment member is attached to the front and is made of composite material. The thickness of the adjustment member is 0.3 to 2.0 mm.

3. The golf club head as claimed in claim 1, wherein, The ball head body includes a housing portion and an outer frame portion disposed on the housing portion and surrounding an opening. The striking panel is embedded in the outer frame portion and located in the opening. The adjusting member covers the striking panel and the outer frame portion.

4. The golf club head as described in claim 3, wherein, The outer frame of the ball head body has an inner ring surface surrounding the opening and for fixing the hitting panel, a side frame surface connecting the inner ring surface and located outside the inner ring surface, and an outer ring surface connecting the side frame surface. The outer ring surface surrounds a groove larger than the opening and located outside the opening. The hitting component also includes an adhesive layer housed in the groove and located between the hitting panel and the adjusting member. The inner side of the adhesive layer is bonded to the hitting panel and the outer frame, and the outer side of the adhesive layer is bonded to the adjusting member, so that the adjusting member is attached to the hitting panel.

5. The golf club head as claimed in claim 1, wherein, The depth of these microstructural features in the striking component is 0.02 to 2.0 mm.

6. A method for manufacturing a golf club head, comprising: an opening step of machining a plurality of recessed microstructural features on the surface of a metal striking face, such that the striking face has a coefficient of reflex greater than 0.8226 and a characteristic time greater than 258 microseconds; and an adjustment step of covering the striking face with an adjustment member of Shore D hardness of 40 to 70 degrees, which is elastic and made of a non-metallic material, thereby obtaining a striking component with a coefficient of reflex greater than 0.8226 and a characteristic time less than 257 microseconds.

7. The method for manufacturing a golf club head as described in claim 6, wherein, In the opening step, the striking panel has an outward-facing front and a back opposite to the front, the microstructural features being opened on the front or the back. In the adjustment step, the adjustment member covers the front and is made of composite material, the thickness of the adjustment member being 0.3 to 2.0 mm.

8. The method for manufacturing a golf club head as described in claim 6, wherein, In the opening step, the striking panel with the microstructural features opened is set on a ball head body. The ball head body includes a housing portion and an outer frame portion disposed on the housing portion and surrounding an opening. The striking panel is embedded in the outer frame portion and located in the opening. In the adjustment step, the adjusting member covers the striking panel and the outer frame portion.

9. The method for manufacturing a golf club head as described in claim 8, wherein, In the opening step, the outer frame has an inner ring surface surrounding the opening and for fixing the striking panel, a side frame surface connecting the inner ring surface and located outside the inner ring surface, and an outer ring surface connecting the side frame surface. The outer ring surface surrounds a setting groove larger than the opening and located outside the opening. In the adjustment step, an adhesive layer is first attached to the striking panel and the outer frame, so that the adhesive layer is located in the setting groove. Then, the adjustment member is attached to the adhesive layer.

10. The method for manufacturing a golf club head as described in claim 6, wherein, In this opening step, the microstructure features are opened on the impact panel by laser engraving, and the depth of the microstructure features is 0.02 to 2.0 mm.
