Abstract

This invention provides a finger rehabilitation orthosis to assist in the rehabilitation of a finger joint. It includes: a first finger sleeve disposed on the finger; a second finger sleeve disposed on the finger and located further away from the palm relative to the first finger sleeve; and an elastic connector. The elastic connector comprises at least one shape memory alloy wire and is coupled to the first finger sleeve and the second finger sleeve. The elastic connector forms at least two elastic arms, respectively connected to opposite sides of the first and second finger sleeves, to provide a restoring torque.

Claims

1. A finger rehabilitation orthosis for assisting in the rehabilitation of a finger joint, comprising: A first finger sleeve is fitted onto that finger; A second finger sleeve is disposed on the finger and is located further away from the palm relative to the first finger sleeve; An elastic connector is coupled to the first finger sleeve and the second finger sleeve, the elastic connector being used to span a joint located between the first finger sleeve and the second finger sleeve; wherein the elastic connector includes at least two elastic arms, the elastic arms being made of a shape memory alloy, and the shape memory alloy being a nickel-titanium alloy, the elastic connector utilizing the superelasticity of the shape memory alloy to provide a continuous and stable corrective force during deformation, and the elastic arms being respectively connected to opposite sides of the first finger sleeve and the second finger sleeve to provide a restoring torque when the joint bends or extends.

2. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 1, wherein, The first finger sleeve includes a circular ring structure, and the second finger sleeve includes a semi-circular ring structure.

3. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 2, wherein, The inner wall of the annular structure of the first finger sleeve has a flat upper part and an arc lower part to fit the shape of the finger.

4. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 2, wherein, At least one of the first finger sleeve and the second finger sleeve includes a double-layer structure having a rigid outer layer and a soft inner layer.

5. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 2, wherein, The first finger sleeve has recesses on opposite sides to avoid compressing the digital nerve and digital artery of the finger.

6. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 2, wherein, The circular or semi-circular structure further includes an opening to allow the structure to deform elastically, thereby accommodating fine adjustments for different finger sizes and facilitating wearing.

7. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 1, wherein, The elastic connector is detachable from the first finger cot and the second finger cot, allowing for replacement with different sizes of elastic connectors according to clinical needs.

8. The finger rehabilitation orthosis as described in claim 4, wherein, The rigid outer layer comprises polypropylene (PP) resin or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin; and the flexible inner layer comprises silicone.
