Abstract

A display device includes a driving backplate, a light-emitting element, a light-controlling structure, a high-refractive-index layer, and a light-transmitting encapsulation layer. The light-emitting element is disposed on the driving backplate. The light-controlling structure includes a first part and a second part. The first part covers the sidewall of the light-emitting element and has a surface lower than the top surface of the light-emitting element. The second part is disposed on the first part. The first part and the second part define a recess. The high-refractive-index layer is disposed in the recess of the light-controlling structure. The light-transmitting encapsulation layer covers the high-refractive-index layer and the light-controlling structure.

Claims

1. A display device, comprising: One drive backplane; A light-emitting element is disposed on the driving back plate and electrically connected to the driving back plate, wherein the light-emitting element has a top surface and a side wall, the top surface of the light-emitting element faces away from the driving back plate, and the side wall of the light-emitting element is located between the top surface of the light-emitting element and the driving back plate. A light control structure is disposed on the drive backplate, wherein the light control structure includes: a first part that covers one sidewall of the light-emitting element and has a surface that is lower than the top surface of the light-emitting element; The light control structure includes a second part disposed on the first part, wherein the first part and the second part define a groove; a high refractive index layer disposed in the groove of the light control structure; and a light-transmitting encapsulation layer covering the high refractive index layer and the light control structure, wherein the refractive index of the high refractive index layer is greater than the refractive index of the light-transmitting encapsulation layer, wherein the second part of the light control structure has a top surface facing away from the driving backplate, the high refractive index layer has a top surface facing away from the driving backplate, and a direction perpendicular to the driving backplate, wherein the distance between the top surface of the second part and the driving backplate in that direction is substantially equal to the distance between the top surface of the high refractive index layer and the driving backplate in that direction.

2. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first portion of the light control structure contacts the sidewall of the light-emitting element.

3. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the high refractive index layer contacts the top surface of the light-emitting element and the sidewall of the second portion defining the recess.

4. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the high refractive index layer has a bottom surface facing the drive backplate, and the bottom surface of the high refractive index layer is lower than the top surface of the light-emitting element.

The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the high refractive index layer has a bottom surface facing the driving backplate, and a distance in that direction between the bottom surface of the high refractive index layer and the top surface of the high refractive index layer is greater than a thickness of the light-emitting element in that direction.

The display device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising: A light-shielding pattern layer is disposed on the top surface of the second part and has an opening, wherein the high refractive index layer and the light-emitting element are located below the opening of the light-shielding pattern layer.

The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second part of the light control structure has a sidewall defining the recess, the sidewall of the light control structure and the drive backplate have an angle within the material of the light control structure, and the angle is in the range of 45° to 75°.

The display device as claimed in claim 1, further comprising: A low refractive index layer is disposed on the high refractive index layer and located between the light-transmitting encapsulation layer and the high refractive index layer, wherein a refractive index of the low refractive index layer is less than the refractive index of the light-transmitting encapsulation layer.

9. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first part and the second part of the light control structure are made of different materials, and the second part is light-transmitting.

The display device as claimed in claim 9, further comprising: A light-shielding pattern layer is disposed on the first part of the light-controlling structure and has an opening, wherein the light-emitting element is located in the opening of the light-shielding pattern layer, the second part of the light-controlling structure is disposed on the light-shielding pattern layer, and the refractive index of the high refractive index layer is greater than that of the light-transmitting second part.

11. The display device as claimed in claim 10, wherein the light-shielding pattern layer contacts the sidewall of the light-emitting element.

12. The display device as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second portion of the light control structure is integrally formed with the light-transmitting encapsulation layer system.
