Abstract

A connector insertion / removal mechanism includes a base, a translational portion, and a slide rail portion. A main body is connected to the base and extends along a first direction. The translational portion has a connecting member configured to accommodate a connector with at least one signal line. The slide rail portion is connected between the main body and the translational portion, and provides a slide rail extending along a second direction. The translational portion is configured to move relative to the main body along the second direction via the slide rail, wherein the second direction is different from the first direction. This invention aims to provide an automated insertion / removal mechanism to achieve automatic and immediate connector hot-plugging operations.

Claims

1. A connector insertion / removal mechanism, comprising: A base; A main body connected to the base and extending along a first direction; a translational portion having a connecting member configured to accommodate a connector for at least one signal line; and a slide rail portion connected between the main body and the translational portion, the slide rail portion providing a slide rail extending along a second direction, the translational portion being configured to be movable relative to the main body along the second direction via the slide rail, wherein the second direction is different from the first direction.

2. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 1 further includes a movable part connected between the base and the body, the movable part being configured to allow the body to rotate relative to the base.

3. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 2, wherein the movable part has a spring.

4. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 2 further includes a fixing portion disposed adjacent to the body, the fixing portion being configured to interfere with rotation of the body relative to the base.

5. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 2 further includes a first guide portion disposed on the body, the first guide portion having a slope that changes height along the second direction.

6. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 1 further includes a second guide portion disposed on the translation portion, the second guide portion having a slope that changes height along the second direction.

7. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the translational portion is configured to have the connecting member at both ends in a third direction, the third direction being perpendicular to the first direction and the second direction.

The connector insertion / removal mechanism as claimed in claim 1, wherein the slide rail includes a base and a slider, the base being fixedly disposed on the main body, the slider being fixedly disposed on the translational part, and the base providing the slide rail to allow the slider to move relative to the main body along the second direction.

The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 8, wherein the slide rail further includes a left fastener and a right fastener, the slider includes a body, a front push block and a rear push block, the left fastener and the right fastener are disposed at one end of the base along the second direction, the front push block is fixed to the body and faces the left fastener and the right fastener, the left fastener and the right fastener are configured to provide locking of the front push block at that end to the base, the rear push block is slidably disposed on the body and movable relative to the front push block along the second direction, the rear push block is configured to push against the left fastener and the right fastener to release the locking of the front push block to the base.

10. The connector insertion / removal mechanism as described in claim 9, wherein the slide rail further includes a set of lower elastic members and a set of upper elastic members, the set of lower elastic members being respectively connected to the base and the left fastener, the base and the right fastener, and the set of upper elastic members being connected to the base and the body.
