Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of radio wave transmission, and in particular to a radio wave transmission system inside a building. Prior Art
[0002] When deploying indoor communication networks, it's common to encounter multiple floors or walls. One approach is to use wired routing, such as fiber optic or Ethernet cables, to pass through narrow gaps between floors and through multiple floors or walls. However, this approach requires significant labor and construction costs. Any changes to the layout necessitate changes to the network deployment plan, resulting in repeated revisions and costly losses. Another approach is to use wireless communication transmission on each floor, using radio waves to penetrate walls or floors. While this approach doesn't require additional wiring, signal loss often occurs in situations with multiple floors or walls, resulting in reduced transmission speeds for users, which doesn't meet their needs or expectations.
[0003] Therefore, the present invention addresses the above-mentioned problems of the prior art and further proposes an internal radio wave transmission system for a building to solve the problems arising from the prior art. Summary of the Invention
[0004] In view of the above problems, one of the objectives of the present invention is to provide an indoor communication network and radio wave transmission system that can be used for transmission between multi-story floors and walls. The system can quickly and conveniently transmit radio waves within a building without consuming manpower and construction costs during deployment.
[0005] Another purpose of the present invention is to overcome the problem of radio wave transmission signal loss caused by conventional technology, to enhance the signal strength of radio wave transmission, and to effectively transmit radio wave signals to each floor and target coverage area.
[0006] To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the present invention provides an internal radio wave transmission system for a building. The building includes a foundation layer and a transmission layer, with a radio wave transmission channel interlinked between the foundation layer and the transmission layer. The internal radio wave transmission system for a building includes a signal transceiver, a first reflector, and a second reflector. The signal transceiver is connected to a telecommunications room and transmits and receives radio wave signals. The first reflector is disposed within the radio wave transmission channel and corresponds to the position of the foundation layer and the signal transceiver. The second reflector is disposed within the radio wave transmission channel and corresponds to the position of the transmission layer. The first reflector is used to receive radio wave signals emitted by the signal transceiver and guide the radio wave signals emitted by the signal transceiver to the second reflector; alternatively, the first reflector is used to receive radio wave signals emitted by the second reflector and guide the radio wave signals emitted by the second reflector to the signal transceiver. The second reflector is used to receive the radio wave signal emitted by the first reflector and guide the radio wave signal emitted by the first reflector to a terminal device located in the transmission layer; or, the second reflector is used to receive the radio wave signal emitted by the terminal device and guide the radio wave signal emitted by the terminal device to the first reflector.
[0007] In accordance with the above objectives, the present invention further provides an internal radio wave transmission system for a building. The building includes a foundation layer and a plurality of transmission layers, with interconnected radio wave transmission channels provided between the foundation layer and each transmission layer. A signal transceiver is connected to a telecommunications room and transmits and receives radio wave signals. A first reflector is disposed within the radio wave transmission channel, corresponding to the positions of the foundation layer and the signal transceiver. A plurality of second reflectors are disposed within the radio wave transmission channel, corresponding to the positions of each transmission layer. The first reflector is used to receive the radio wave signals emitted by the signal transceiver and guide the radio wave signals emitted by the signal transceiver to each adjacent second reflector; alternatively, the first reflector is used to receive the radio wave signals emitted by each adjacent second reflector and guide the radio wave signals emitted by each adjacent second reflector to the signal transceiver. Each second reflector is used to receive radio wave signals emitted by an adjacent first reflector and guide the radio wave signals emitted by the first reflector to a terminal device located in each corresponding transmission layer; or, each second reflector is used to receive radio wave signals emitted by a terminal device in each transmission layer and guide the radio wave signals emitted by the terminal device to the first reflector.
[0008] As described above, the in-building radio wave transmission system of the present invention integrates the advantages of wired and wireless transmission, utilizing the free space between building pipes (e.g., gaps or passages) as the transmission medium for radio waves (over the air). It leverages the properties of high-frequency, narrow-beam radio waves to pass through the extremely small gaps between pipes. Optical and radio principles (e.g., mirror reflection and refraction on reflectors) are employed to assist in signal guidance in both horizontal and vertical directions (between floors). This allows for the targeted signal input and output on each floor, effectively reducing deployment labor and construction costs, as well as the significant energy loss associated with radio waves penetrating obstacles. Implementation Method
[0010] The embodiments of the present invention are further explained below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Whenever possible, identical reference numerals in the drawings and the specification represent identical or similar components. In the drawings, shapes and thicknesses may be exaggerated for simplicity and convenience. It should be understood that components not specifically shown in the drawings or described in the specification are generally known to those skilled in the art. Those skilled in the art may make various changes and modifications based on the teachings of this invention.
[0011] In the present invention, terms such as "first," "second," and so on are used to describe various elements, components, regions, layers, and / or sections, but it should be understood that these elements, components, regions, layers, and / or sections should not be limited by these terms. These terms are merely used to distinguish one element, component, region, layer, and / or section from another element, component, region, layer, and / or section, and do not imply or represent any prior number of the elements, nor do they represent the order in which one element is arranged relative to another, or the order in which one element is manufactured. Therefore, without departing from the scope of the embodiments of the present disclosure, the first element, component, region, layer, or section discussed below may also be referred to as the second element, component, region, layer, or section.
[0012] Referring to Figure 1 , the internal radio wave transmission system of this embodiment is suitable for use in multi-story buildings. Building A1 includes a base layer LB and a transmission layer LT. A radio wave transmission channel C1 is provided between the base layer LB and the transmission layer LT. The radio wave transmission channel C1 in Figure 1 is merely an example and can be a pipe or gap between floors or walls, but is not limited to this. The internal radio wave transmission system includes a signal transceiver BS, a first reflector 10, and a second reflector 20. The signal transceiver BS is connected to a telecommunications room R and transmits and receives radio wave signals S. The signal transceiver BS is a wireless base station. The first reflector 10 is positioned within the radio wave transmission channel C1, corresponding to the base layer LB and the signal transceiver BS. The second reflector 20 is positioned within the radio wave transmission channel C1, corresponding to the transmission layer LT. The first reflector 10 and the second reflector 20 are preferably reflectors made using reconfigurable intelligent surface technology, referred to as RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface), for precisely directing or reflecting signals to a specified location.
[0013] In this embodiment, the signal transceiver BS is disposed on the base layer LB. For example, building A1 has a first floor 1F and a second floor 2F. The first floor 1F is defined as the base layer LB, and the second floor 2F is defined as the transmission layer LT. This definition is not intended to limit the application of the present invention to only two floors, but rather to provide a clear understanding of the spirit and technical features of the present invention. Those skilled in the art should be able to easily modify the present invention based on the disclosure. A first reflector 10 is disposed on the base layer LB to receive the radio wave signal S emitted by the signal transceiver BS, also disposed on the base layer LB, and to guide the radio wave signal S emitted by the signal transceiver BS to a second reflector 20 located on the transmission layer LT. The first reflector 10 can also receive the radio wave signal S emitted by the second reflector 20 located on the transmission layer LT and guide the radio wave signal S emitted by the second reflector 20 to the signal transceiver BS. The second reflector 20 is disposed on the transmission layer LT and is used to receive the radio wave signal S emitted by the first reflector 10 located on the base layer LB and guide the radio wave signal S emitted by the first reflector 10 to the terminal device 30 located within the transmission layer LT. The second reflector 20 can also be used to receive the radio wave signal S emitted by the terminal device 30 and guide the radio wave signal S emitted by the terminal device 30 to the first reflector 10. The terminal device 30 can be, but is not limited to, a mobile device, a smartphone, a laptop computer, a tablet computer, etc. The terminal device 30 shown in Figure 1 is for example and schematic purposes only and is not intended to limit its structure.
[0014] Next, the layout of the radio wave transmission system within a building is described. First, based on the horizontal width and vertical height of the pre-defined radio wave transmission channel C1 within building A1, a radio wave simulator (e.g., an RF simulator, which simulates RF signal transmission and reception) is used to simulate wireless signal transmission and reception at each possible signal redirection location. Next, the system identifies each possible signal reflection location, defining it as a reflection point. The transmitter location is identified as the starting point, and the final coverage area is determined, defining it as the end point. Finally, a signal transceiver BS (i.e., a wireless base station transmitter) is installed at the starting point. Reflection tests are performed from the near end to each reflection point, performing a first-order reflection test to verify whether the wireless signal can be directed through each reflector to the next reflection point or the end point. The optimal reflection angle for the reflector is determined. If successful, the system continues with the next-order reflection until the end point is reached. Finally, after completing the test, the reflector is installed at the appropriate reflection point and optimal reflection angle. Based on the scenario, it is decided whether to set up a signal amplification module or signal extension module, or directly use the farthest-field reflector to guide the wireless signal into the coverage area.
[0015] In this embodiment, the radio wave transmission channel C1 is represented by a narrow channel. However, in actual implementation, the radio wave transmission channel C1 can be formed by using tools or parts to penetrate the floor, or it can be presented in the form of various free space channels such as pipes and slits. Therefore, the above example and the radio wave transmission channel C1 in the figure are for illustration only and are not intended to be limiting. Those skilled in the art can also set free space as the transmission medium for radio waves (over the air) and achieve the same effect.
[0016] Next, the characteristics of the radio wave signal S of the present invention are described. The radio wave signal S is preferably a high-frequency narrow-beam signal (Narrow-Beam & High-Band Wireless Signal). The so-called high-frequency narrow-beam signal, under the same conditions, utilizes the inversely proportional characteristic that higher wave frequency and narrower beam width. This increases the frequency of the radio wave signal S emitted by the signal transceiver BS to a higher frequency, thereby narrowing the width of the signal beam. This high-frequency narrow-beam signal can pass through the narrow passages (or gaps) within the building A1, thereby achieving the effect of effectively transmitting the radio wave signal S and reducing losses. As a result, there is no need to dig additional transmission channels within the building A1. The radio wave signal can be efficiently transmitted through the small gaps within the building A1, thereby reducing the cost of deploying the communication network within the building A1.
[0017] Referring to Figure 2 , this embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the internal radio wave transmission system further includes a signal processing device 40 . The signal processing device 40 is disposed on the transmission layer LT, corresponding to the position of the second reflector 20 . The signal processing device 40 is configured to process the radio wave signal S1 emitted by the second reflector 20 . The signal processing device 40 may include a signal amplification module or a signal extension module. The signal amplification module or signal extension module may be located between the terminal device 30 and the second reflector 20 . The signal amplification module 40 is configured to receive and amplify the radio wave signal S1 emitted by the second reflector 20 , while the signal extension module is configured to receive and extend the radio wave signal S1 emitted by the second reflector 20 . Consequently, the radio wave signal S1 emitted by the second reflector 20 is processed by the signal amplification module or signal extension module, and the processed radio wave signal S2 is then transmitted to the terminal device 30 . For example, the radio wave signal S2 processed by the signal amplification module of the signal processing device 40 can increase the signal amplitude, which is beneficial for preventing signal attenuation during signal transmission when used in a wide space. At the same time, it can reduce the noise of the radio wave signal S2 and provide a radio wave signal with higher accuracy. The signal extension module of the signal processing device 40 can extend the radio wave signal S2 to a longer distance, overcoming the limitations and spatial effects of conventional cable and wire layouts, while also avoiding signal interference. This not only saves space but also saves electricity, and therefore can be applied in various environments.
[0018] Referring to Figure 3 , this embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the location of the signal transceiver BS. In this embodiment, the signal transceiver BS is located outside building A2 (e.g., on the top floor or roof of building A2), corresponding to the location of the base layer LB. As shown in Figure 3 , the signal transceiver BS is installed in building A2. Building A3 has a first floor 1F and a top floor RF. The top floor RF is defined as the base layer LB, and the first floor 1F is defined as the transmission layer LT. These definitions are not intended to limit the number of floors in the present invention, but rather to provide a clear understanding of the spirit and technical features of the present invention. Those skilled in the art should be able to easily modify these definitions based on the present disclosure.
[0019] The first reflector 10 is located on the top floor RF, corresponding to the base floor LB, and is also installed within the radio wave transmission channel C2. The first reflector 10 is used to receive the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the signal transceiver BS and guide the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the signal transceiver BS to the second reflector 20 located on the first floor 1F. The first reflector 10 is also used to receive the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the second reflector 20 and guide the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the second reflector 20 to the signal transceiver BS outside the building A2. The second reflector 20 is located on the first floor 1F, corresponding to the transmission layer LT, and is also installed within the radio wave transmission channel C2. The second reflector 20 is used to receive the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the first reflector 10 and guide the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the first reflector 10 to the terminal device 30 located in the transmission layer LT. The second reflector 20 can also receive the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the terminal device 30 and guide the radio wave signal S3 emitted by the terminal device 30 to the first reflector 10. The radio wave transmission channel C2 in Figure 3 is merely illustrative. The radio wave transmission channel C2 can be a free space such as a pipe or a slit that passes through the floor. Those skilled in the art can customize the space as a radio wave transmission medium, and this will not be further described here.
[0020] Therefore, the in-building radio wave transmission system of this embodiment can overcome the limitations of traditional network deployment inside and outside buildings. It can not only overcome the problems of limited transmission distance and installation difficulties between adjacent buildings, but also improve transmission quality and efficiency, thereby effectively reducing deployment costs.
[0021] Referring to Figure 4 , this embodiment differs from the first embodiment in the multiple transmission layers. For example, in this embodiment, building A4 includes a basement layer LB, a first transmission layer LT1, and a second transmission layer LT2. Building A4 has a basement floor (OF), a first floor (1F), and a second floor (2F). The first floor (1F) can be defined as the basement layer LB, the floor below the basement floor (OF) can be defined as the first transmission layer LT1, and the floor below the second floor (2F) can be defined as the second transmission layer LT2. These definitions are not intended to limit the number of floors in the present invention but rather to provide a clear understanding of the spirit and technical features of the present invention. Those skilled in the art should be able to easily modify these definitions based on the present disclosure.
[0022] Interconnected radio wave transmission channels C3 are provided between the base layer LB, the first transmission layer LT1, and the second transmission layer LT2. These channels can be vertical or curved. Figure 4 illustrates this using a slit in the floor slab, but this is not limiting and will not be further described. A signal transceiver BS is located within the base layer LB (i.e., within the first floor 1F) and connects to the telecommunications room R, transmitting and receiving radio wave signals S4. A first reflector 10 is positioned within the radio wave transmission channel C3, corresponding to the base layer LB and the signal transceiver BS. A plurality of second reflectors 20, 20' are positioned within the radio wave transmission channel C3, corresponding to the positions of the transmission layers. Specifically, the second reflector 20 is located at a position corresponding to the second transmission layer LT2, and the second reflector 20' is located at a position corresponding to the first transmission layer LT1. The first reflector 10 is used to receive the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the signal transceiver BS and guide the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the signal transceiver BS to the adjacent second reflectors 20, 20'. Alternatively, the first reflector 10 is used to receive the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the adjacent second reflectors 20, 20' and guide the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the adjacent second reflectors 20, 20' to the signal transceiver BS. Each second reflector 20, 20' is used to receive the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the adjacent first reflector 10 and guide the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the first reflector 10 to the terminal devices 30, 30' located in the corresponding transmission layer; or, each second reflector 20, 20' is used to receive the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the terminal devices 30, 30' in each transmission layer and guide the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the terminal devices 30, 30' to the first reflector 10.
[0023] Referring to Figure 5 , this embodiment differs from the fourth embodiment in that the transmission layer includes at least a third transmission layer LT3 and a third reflector 50. In this embodiment, building A5 includes a basement layer LB, a first transmission layer LT1, a second transmission layer LT2, and a third transmission layer LT3. Building A5 comprises a basement floor 0F, a first floor 1F, a second floor 2F, and a third floor 3F. A person skilled in the art can arrange each floor as a basement layer or a transmission layer. For example, the first floor LB, the basement floor 0F as the first transmission layer LT1, the second floor 2F as the second transmission layer LT2, and the third floor 3F as the third transmission layer LT3. Since the previous embodiment has been described, it will not be repeated here. The third reflector 50 is located at a position corresponding to the third transmission layer LT3. The third reflector 50 preferably corresponds to the position of the second reflectors 20 and 20' and is located on an adjacent floor. This means that the third reflector 50 can be located on the third floor 3F or on the floor below the basement floor 0F, but this is not a limitation.
[0024] For example, consider a signal transceiver BS emitting a radio signal S4. First, the signal transceiver BS and the telecommunications room R communicate with each other. The telecommunications room R transmits a telecommunications signal to the signal transceiver BS. After receiving the telecommunications signal, the signal transceiver BS converts the signal into a radio signal and then transmits the signal. The first reflector 10 receives the radio signal S4 from the signal transceiver BS and directs it to the adjacent second reflectors 20, 20'. The second reflectors 20, 20' receive the radio signal S4 from the adjacent first reflectors 10 and direct it to the terminal devices 30, 30' located in the corresponding transmission layers. The second reflectors 20, 20' receive the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the adjacent first reflector 10 and also refract and guide the radio wave signal S4 to the adjacent third reflector 50. The third reflector 50 receives the radio wave signal S4 emitted by the adjacent second reflector 20 and guides the radio wave signal S4 to the terminal device 60 located in the third transmission layer LT3.
[0025] For example, a terminal device 60 transmits radio wave signal S4. The device receives radio wave signal S4 from the terminal device 60 on the third transmission layer and directs it to the second reflector 20. The second reflector 20 receives radio wave signal S4 from the terminal device 60 on the third transmission layer LT3 and refracts and directs it to the adjacent first reflector 10. Simultaneously, the second reflector 20 receives and directs radio wave signal S4 from the terminal device 30 on the second transmission layer LT2 to the first reflector 10. The first reflector 10 receives radio wave signal S4 reflected by the adjacent second reflector 20 and directs it to the signal transceiver BS. After receiving radio wave signal S4, the signal transceiver BS converts it into a telecommunications signal and transmits it to the telecommunications room R.
[0026] In summary, the in-building radio wave transmission system of the present invention can effectively reduce the construction cost of network deployment while improving deployment efficiency. It overcomes the energy loss problem of conventional radio waves penetrating obstacles (partitions or floors). It can also be used in multi-story buildings, for radio wave signal transmission between adjacent buildings, or in indoor environments with multiple partitions (walls) to accurately and reliably transmit wireless signals to the target coverage area.
[0027] The above description is merely an example of a preferred embodiment of the present invention and is not intended to limit the scope of implementation. Any simple replacement and equivalent changes made in accordance with the scope of the patent application of the present invention and the content of the patent specification shall fall within the scope of the patent application of the present invention.
