Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a display device and a lens module, and more particularly to a head-mounted display device and a zoom lens module. [Previous Technology]

[0002] With the rapid advancement of current technology, the types and functions of head-mounted display devices are becoming increasingly diversified. Taking the eye mask type head-mounted display device as an example, when a user wears such a device, the gyroscope and position tracker inside the head-mounted display device will track the user's movement to project corresponding scene images, providing the user with an experience as if they were in a virtual world.

[0003] When using a head-mounted display device, since each user has a different degree of myopia, the head-mounted display device can provide two zoom lens modules to suit different users, so that each user can get the best user experience. Currently, zooming is achieved by rotating the zoom ring, which drives the lens assembled in the zoom ring to rotate and move at the same time. However, if the zoom ring undergoes slight deformation during zooming, gaps will be created between the parts, allowing dust to enter the zoom lens module and affect image quality. [Summary of the Invention]

[0004] The present invention provides a head-mounted display device and a zoom lens module, which can avoid the problem of dust entering and reducing image quality.

[0005] The head-mounted display device of the present invention includes a body, a fixing device, and two zoom lens modules. The body has two displays corresponding to both eyes. The fixing device is assembled to the body and is adapted to fix the body to a user's head. Each zoom lens module includes a base, a first lens group, a first buffer material, a zoom band, a second lens group, and a second buffer material. The base is assembled to the body and corresponds to one of the two displays. The first lens group is slidably assembled to the base. The first lens group is adapted to slide relative to the base without rotating along a zoom direction. The first buffer material is assembled between the base and the first lens group to surround and enclose the space between the base and the first lens group. The zoom band surrounds an outer peripheral wall of the first lens group and is adapted to slide on the outer peripheral wall. The second lens group is assembled to the base. The first lens group is located between the base and the second lens group. The zoom band is located between the second lens group and the first lens group. The second buffer material is assembled between the first lens group and the second lens group to surround and enclose the space between the first lens group and the second lens group. When the zoom belt slides on the outer peripheral wall, it drives the first lens group to slide in the zoom direction.

[0006] The zoom lens module of the present invention includes a base, a first lens group, a first buffer material, a zoom band, a second lens group, and a second buffer material. The second buffer material is assembled between the first lens group and the second lens group to surround and enclose the space between the first lens group and the second lens group. When the zoom band slides on the outer peripheral wall, the zoom band drives the first lens group to slide in the zoom direction.

[0007] In one embodiment of the present invention, the first lens group includes a first lens frame and a first lens. The first lens frame is slidably assembled to the base. The outer peripheral wall of the first lens frame has a variety of radii of curvature. The outer peripheral wall has an oblique guide groove. The first lens is assembled to the first lens frame. The zoom band is adapted to slide against the outer peripheral wall. A slider is provided on the outer side of the zoom band. A guide block is provided on the inner side of the zoom band. The guide block is embedded in the oblique guide groove and is adapted to slide along the oblique guide groove. The second lens group includes a second lens frame and a second lens. The second lens frame is assembled to the base. The first lens frame is located between the base and the second lens frame. The zoom band is located between the second lens frame and the first lens frame. The second lens frame has a circumferential slot. The slider passes through the circumferential slot and is adapted to slide along the circumferential slot. The second lens is assembled to the second lens frame. When the slider is subjected to force and drives the zoom band to slide on the outer peripheral wall, the guide block drives the first lens frame to slide in the zoom direction.

[0008] In one embodiment of the present invention, the number of guide blocks is multiple, and the number of inclined guide slots corresponds to the number of guide blocks.

[0009] In one embodiment of the present invention, the zoom band is made of nylon or metal.

[0010] In one embodiment of the present invention, the zoom belt includes a belt body. The belt body surrounds the outer peripheral wall. The two ends of the belt body are adjacent to each other.

[0011] In one embodiment of the present invention, the zoom belt further includes a rod. The rod is connected to both ends of the belt body and serves as a slide bar.

[0012] In one embodiment of the present invention, the materials of the first cushioning material and the second cushioning material include sponge or foam.

[0013] Based on the above, in the head-mounted display device and zoom lens module of the present invention, the buffer material can surround and seal the space between the parts to prevent dust from entering and ensure better imaging quality.

Implementation Method

[0015] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a head-mounted display device according to an embodiment of the present invention. Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of the disassembled state of the zoom lens module and the display of the head-mounted display device of Figure 1. Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the head-mounted display device 50 of this embodiment includes a body 52, a fixing device 54, and two zoom lens modules 100. The body 52 has two displays 52A corresponding to both eyes. The fixing device 54 is adapted to fix the body 52 to the head of a user. Each zoom lens module 100 includes a base 110, a first lens group 120, a first buffer material 130, a zoom band 140, a second lens group 150, and a second buffer material 160. Each base 110 is assembled to the body 52 and corresponds to one of the displays 52A.

[0016] In this embodiment, the main body 52 is a head-mounted display, which can be applied, for example, to virtual reality systems, augmented reality systems, or mixed reality systems. In addition to the zoom lens module 100, the main body 52 may also include other optical systems and protective housings. In this embodiment, the fixing device 54 is a temple, but in other embodiments, the fixing device may be a headband or other fixing device to secure the main body 52 to the user's head.

[0017] The first lens group 120 is slidably assembled to the base 110. The first lens group 120 is adapted to slide relative to the base 110 without rotation along a zoom direction D10. That is, the first lens group 120 does not rotate during the zooming process. Therefore, the first lens group 120 can be a non-circular lens. The zoom band 140 surrounds an outer peripheral wall 122 of the first lens group 120 and is adapted to slide on the outer peripheral wall 122. The second lens group 150 is assembled to the base 110. That is, there is no relative movement or rotation between the second lens group 150 and the base 110. Generally along the zoom direction D10, the first lens group 120 is located between the base 110 and the second lens group 150. Generally along the radial direction, the zoom band 140 is located between the second lens group 150 and the first lens group 120. When the zoom band 140 slides on the outer peripheral wall 122, it causes the first lens group 120 to slide in the zoom direction D10. In other words, by applying force to rotate the zoom band 140 around the first lens group 120, the first lens group 120 can slide between the second lens group 150 and the base 110, achieving the purpose of zooming. In other words, rotating the zoom band 140 adjusts the distance between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150, thus achieving the purpose of zooming.

[0018] Furthermore, the first buffer material 130 is assembled between the base 110 and the first lens group 120 to surround and enclose the space between the base 110 and the first lens group 120. The second buffer material 160 is assembled between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150 to surround and enclose the space between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150. During the zooming process of the zoom lens module 100, the first lens group 120 will slide between the second lens group 150 and the base 110, that is, the distance between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150 will change, and the distance between the first lens group 120 and the base 110 will also change. Because the first buffer material 130 and the second buffer material 160 are made of a buffer material whose volume can be elastically changed, the first buffer material 130 can remain in contact with the base 110 and the first lens group 120 regardless of how the distance between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150 and the distance between the first lens group 120 and the base 110 changes. Similarly, the second buffer material 160 can remain in contact with the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150. In this way, the space between the base 110 and the first lens group 120, and the space between the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150, can be sealed, reducing the chance of external dust intrusion and thus ensuring better image quality. In this embodiment, the first buffer material 130 can be fixed to the first lens group 120 or the base 110 using adhesive, or it can be fixed to both the first lens group 120 and the base 110 using adhesive. Similarly, the second buffer material 160 can be fixed to the first lens group 120 or the second lens group 150 with adhesive backing, or it can be fixed to both the first lens group 120 and the second lens group 150 with adhesive backing.

[0019] For example, the first buffer material 130 and the second buffer material 160 are ring-shaped, contacting the outer area of the first lens group 120 but exposing most of the middle area, so as not to block the path of light. The materials of the first buffer material 130 and the second buffer material 160 include sponge, foam or other suitable buffer materials, such as high-density soft microporous foam made of polyurethane.

[0020] The first lens group 120 of this embodiment includes, for example, a first lens frame 120A and a first lens 120B. The first lens frame 120A is slidably assembled to the base 110. The first lens 120B is assembled to the first lens frame 120A. The second lens group 150 of this embodiment includes, for example, a second lens frame 150A and a second lens 150B. The second lens frame 150A is assembled to the base 110. The second lens 150B is assembled to the second lens frame 150A.

[0021] Figure 3 is a front view of the first lens frame of the zoom lens module of Figure 2. Figure 4 is a front view of the zoom band of the zoom lens module of Figure 2. Referring to Figures 3 and 4, the outer peripheral wall 122 of the first lens frame 120A in this embodiment has multiple radii of curvature. That is, the outer peripheral wall 122 is not perfectly circular, because it matches the shape of the first lens 120B. For example, the outer peripheral wall 122 in this embodiment has an irregular shape, and its radius of curvature is gradually changing, but the present invention does not limit this. Because the outer peripheral wall 122 of the first lens frame 120A has multiple radii of curvature, a conventional rigid zoom ring with a perfectly circular appearance cannot be used to move the first lens frame 120A. However, the zoom band 140 in this embodiment can be flexible and bendable, so the zoom band 140 can wrap around the outer peripheral wall 122 and is suitable for sliding close to the outer peripheral wall 122. Therefore, in this embodiment, the zoom band 140 can rotate relative to the first lens frame 120A and is used to drive the first lens frame 120A to move in the zoom direction D10.

[0022] Figure 5 is a schematic diagram of the zoom lens module of Figure 2 after partial assembly. Referring to Figures 2 and 5, the base 110 of this embodiment, for example, has a space for accommodating the display 52A, thereby fixing the relative position of the base 110 and the display 52A. The first lens 120B is assembled to the first lens frame 120A, thereby fixing the relative position of the first lens 120B and the first lens frame 120A, and the first lens 120B can move with the first lens frame 120A. The second lens 150B is disposed on the second lens frame 150A, thereby fixing the relative position of the second lens 150B and the second lens frame 150A. The first lens 120B can be composed of one or more lenses, and the second lens 150B can also be composed of one or more lenses.

[0023] Figure 6 is a schematic diagram from another perspective of the zoom lens module of Figure 5 after partial assembly. Referring to Figures 5 and 6, the second lens frame 150A has a circumferential slot 152. That is, the circumferential slot 152 is a strip-shaped opening extending along the outer peripheral wall of the second lens frame 150A. The zoom band 140 is adapted to be disposed on the inner side of the second lens frame 150A. The outer side of the zoom band 140 has a slider 142. The slider 142 passes through the circumferential slot 152 and is adapted to slide along the circumferential slot 152. Therefore, by moving the slider 142 exposed in the circumferential slot 152, the zoom band 140 can be rotated relative to the second lens frame 150A.

[0024] Figure 7 is a partial perspective view of the zoom lens module of Figure 2 in one state. Figure 8 is a cross-sectional view of the zoom lens module of Figure 7. Figure 7 presents the first lens 120B, zoom band 140, second lens frame 150A, and second lens 150B in perspective, omitting the first buffer material 130 and the second buffer material 160, so as to clearly see the connection between the zoom band 140 and the first lens frame 120A and the connection between the base 110 and the first lens frame 120A. Referring to Figures 5, 7, and 8, the first lens frame 120A is slidably assembled to the base 110. The first lens frame 120A is adapted to slide relative to the base 110 along the zoom direction D10. The outer peripheral wall 122 has an oblique guide groove 122A. The inner side of the zoom band 140 has a guide block 144. The guide block 144 is embedded in the oblique guide groove 122A and adapted to slide along the oblique guide groove 122A. The second lens frame 150A is assembled to the base 110. That is, the relative position and distance between the second lens 150B on the second lens frame 150A and the display 52A on the base 110 are fixed.

[0025] The first lens frame 120A is located between the base 110 and the second lens frame 150A. The zoom band 140 is located between the second lens frame 150A and the first lens frame 120A. Specifically, in the zoom direction D10, the first lens frame 120A is sandwiched between the base 110 and the second lens frame 150A. In the radial direction, the first lens frame 120A surrounds a portion of the periphery of the base 110, the zoom band 140 surrounds the periphery of the first lens frame 120A, and the second lens frame 150A surrounds the periphery of the zoom band 140. As can be seen from Figure 7, in this state, the guide block 144 on the inner side of the zoom band 140 is located on the lower side of the oblique guide groove 122A on the left side in Figure 7. The relative position of the second lens frame 150A and the base 110 is fixed, and the movement of the zoom band 140 in the zoom direction D10 is also restricted by the second lens frame 150A and the base 110. Therefore, when the guide block 144 of the zoom band 140 is located on the lower side of the oblique guide groove 122A, the first lens frame 120A is maintained on the higher side in FIG. 7, that is, the first lens 120B is relatively close to the second lens 150B. At this time, the second buffer material 160 is compressed to a greater extent, while the first buffer material 130 is hardly compressed.

[0026] Figure 9 is a partial perspective view of the zoom lens module of Figure 2 in another state. Figure 10 is a cross-sectional view of the zoom lens module of Figure 9. The first buffer material 130 and the second buffer material 160 are also omitted in Figure 9. Referring to Figures 5, 9 and 10, when the slider 142 is forced to slide the zoom belt 140 on the outer peripheral wall 122, the guide block 144 drives the first lens frame 120A to slide in the zoom direction D10. Specifically, when the slider 142 is forced to slide the zoom belt 140 from the position in Figure 7 to the position in Figure 9, the guide block 144 moves from the lower position on the left side of the oblique guide groove 122A in Figure 7 to the right side, and the guide block 144 can, for example, stay on the higher side of the oblique guide groove 122A on the right side in Figure 9. As the guide block 144 of the zoom band 140 moves towards the higher right side of the oblique guide groove 122A, it exerts force on the wall of the oblique guide groove 122A, pushing the first lens frame 120A. Although the first lens frame 120A cannot rotate, it moves downward in the zoom direction D10 as shown in Figure 9, meaning the first lens 120B moves away from the second lens 150B in the zoom direction D10. At this time, the first buffer material 130 is compressed to a greater extent, while the second buffer material 160 is almost not compressed.

[0027] In this way, in the head-mounted display device 50 and the zoom lens module 100 of this embodiment, by simply moving the slider 142 to rotate the zoom band 140, the relative distance between the first lens 120B and the second lens 150B in the zoom direction D10 can be changed, thereby achieving the purpose of zooming. Therefore, not only can non-circular first lenses 120B and second lenses 150B be used to allow the zoom lens module 100 to be closer to the user's eyes, thereby increasing the lens area and increasing the viewing angle, but the zoom function is still retained. For example, the outer contour of the two zoom lens modules 100 in FIG1 is relatively flat on the side closer to the user's brow. For users with relatively prominent brows, such a zoom lens module 100 can be closer to the user's eyes.

[0028] Furthermore, referring to Figures 1 and 2, in the head-mounted display device 50 of this embodiment, the two zoom lens modules 100 can be zoomed independently. When a user has myopia, the zoom lens module 100 can be zoomed to obtain a clear image. Moreover, even if the user's two eyes have different degrees of myopia, the two zoom lens modules 100 can be zoomed to different degrees individually, so that both eyes can obtain a clear image.

[0029] Referring again to Figure 5, in this embodiment, there are multiple guide blocks 144, and the number of oblique guide grooves 122A corresponds to the number of guide blocks 144. Having a larger number of oblique guide grooves 122A and distributing them as evenly as possible across the entire first lens frame 120A allows for smoother sliding of the first lens frame 120A relative to the base 110. In this embodiment, the zoom band 140 can be made of nylon, metal, or other flexible materials that are not easily compressed in the length direction to change their length. In this embodiment, the zoom band 140 includes a band body 140A. The band body 140A surrounds the outer peripheral wall 122. The two ends of the band body 140A are adjacent to each other. That is, the zoom band 140 can be formed by wrapping the originally straight band body 140A into a circle; this design is easy to manufacture and assemble, and can save costs. In this embodiment, the zoom band 140 may further include a rod body 140B. Rod 140B is connected to both ends of belt 140A and serves as slide rod 142. Rod 140B can not only be used to connect both ends of belt 140A, but can also pass through circumferential slot 152 to serve as slide rod 142.

[0030] In this embodiment, the first lens frame 120A has a plurality of sliders 124, and the base 110 has a plurality of grooves 112 corresponding to the sliders 124. Each slider 124 is slidably disposed in a groove 112, so as to be suitable for sliding relative to the base 110 along the zoom direction D10.

[0031] In summary, in the head-mounted display device and zoom lens module of the present invention, the first buffer material is assembled between the base and the first lens group and surrounds and seals the space between the base and the first lens group, and the second buffer material is assembled between the first lens group and the second lens group and surrounds and seals the space between the first lens group and the second lens group. Therefore, even if the zoom band deforms slightly during zooming, the buffer material can still seal the space between the parts, thereby preventing dust from entering and affecting the image quality. In addition, when the outer peripheral wall of the first lens frame is irregularly shaped and suitable for fixing an irregularly shaped lens, using a flexible zoom band to slide close to the outer peripheral wall of the first lens frame allows the lens area to be increased, thereby increasing the viewing angle, while also having a zoom function.
