Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] This invention relates to a raised foam silicone resin, a printing agent comprising the same, a printing method using the printing agent, and a printed product. Cross-Reference to Related Applications

[0002] This application claims the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2024-0065297, filed on May 20, 2024, with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. [Previous Technology]

[0003] Generally speaking, examples of methods for dyeing fabrics include: immersion dyeing, in which the fabric is immersed in a dye solution to dye the fabric; and printing, in which a mixture of dye or pigment and thickener is printed onto the surface of the fabric using a screen or roller.

[0004] Immersion dyeing refers to the process of immersing the material to be dyed in a dye solution to achieve a uniform color, and is commonly used as a general term for solid dyeing. Mechanical devices are primarily used for immersion dyeing. Because these devices are structurally very simple, the material to be dyed is partially immersed in the dye solution while rotating. Generally, as mechanical devices, jiggers are used for fabrics such as cotton, silk, rayon, and similar materials, while winches are used for wool fabrics. A jigger is a simple dyeing machine consisting of a pair of rollers and a dyeing tank containing a dyeing solution. Uncut fabric is wound onto one roller and then fed onto and wound onto the other roller while being immersed in the dye solution. The fabric is then dyed while being wound in the opposite direction to the winding direction, and this process is repeated several times until the desired color is achieved. A winch is a dyeing machine in which multiple rods are firmly fixed laterally around the periphery of a pair of opposing elliptical or circular plates, and the rotating rods feed the fabric. Circular plates are used for dyeing woolen fabrics, while oval plates are used for dyeing other types of fabrics. In addition, when dyeing fabrics in large quantities, continuous dyeing machines are used, in which multiple units for performing dyeing, washing, softening, and drying are connected in a row.

[0005] Printing refers to the process of dyeing a pattern onto an uncut fabric. Printing also refers to a technique used on paper or other materials, but in the case of yarn or fabric, especially woven fabric, partial coloring is used to create the desired pattern. Printing can be classified in various ways. In other words, printing is classified according to the type of fabric to be printed on, such as synthetic fabric printing, cotton fabric printing, wool fabric printing, and silk fabric printing. It is also classified according to whether the printing process is mechanical or manual, such as machine printing and hand printing.

[0006] Machine printing is further classified into rotary printing, automatic screen printing, rotary screen printing, transfer printing and digital textile printing (DTP).

[0007] Roll printing is a printing method in which a motif or pattern is engraved on a copper or iron cylinder to create a raised or recessed shape, and then dye is applied to the engraved portion of the cylinder, allowing fabric to pass through the engraved motif or pattern to dye the fabric. Roll printing is the oldest machine printing method, primarily used for simple patterns, stripes, and dots with a small amount of color.

[0008] Automatic screen printing is the most commonly used machine printing method recently. In this method, the screen frame is firmly fixed on a printing table that is installed in a horizontal position, and the squeegee moves on the screen to vertically squeeze the dye and apply the dye to the fabric attached to the loop belt. Then the fabric moves automatically to fit the screen frame.

[0009] Rotary screen printing refers to a printing method in which a cylindrical metal screen frame, used as a substitute for a flat screen frame in automatic screen printing, is in a rotating state, and a fabric attached to a belt moves continuously to allow a pattern to be printed onto the fabric. In the rotary screen printing process, a modified machine is used, in which a rotary printing machine is combined with an automatic screen printing machine.

[0010] Transfer printing refers to a printing method in which transfer dye is printed onto paper, and then the fabric and printing paper are heat-pressed at a suitable temperature to allow the transfer dye to be printed onto the fabric. In the transfer printing process, printing techniques are applied to produce fine and realistic effects.

[0011] Hand printing can be further classified into plate printing, stencil printing, spray printing, wax resist printing, spray dyeing, tie-dyeing, gravure printing, and vigorous printing. Plate printing refers to a printing method in which a pattern is engraved onto a wooden, rubber, or oilcloth plate, and then dye is applied to the engraved plate, stamping the pattern onto the fabric, similar to stamping. It is the oldest printing method in the history of textile printing.

[0012] Stencil printing refers to a printing method in which a stencil is cut out using a knife, scissors, or any other similar tool, and then the cut-out stencil is placed on a fabric. Dye is then scraped over the stencil to pass through the perforated portion of the stencil to produce the pattern. It also refers to a printing method in which dye is sprayed onto a stencil.

[0013] Spray printing refers to printing methods using the following techniques: placing a template with a desired pattern engraved on the fabric and spraying coloring dye onto the template; drawing the desired pattern with dye containing a reducing agent or resist and then spraying another coloring dye on top of the pattern to produce a design; and spraying various coloring dyes onto the entire fabric using a sprayer.

[0014] Wax resist printing refers to a traditional printing method primarily practiced by the Javanese. In wax resist printing, lead, wax, paraffin, or similar materials are used to create the background or pattern. The fabric is then dyed, and subsequently folded or wrinkled regularly or irregularly to produce a random effect. This printing technique produces an excellent crackle effect due to the cracks within the wax.

[0015] As discussed above, the base fabric used for textiles or similar materials can be processed into fabrics with desired colors and patterns using the aforementioned printing methods. However, the limitation of these printing methods is that, since the pattern is flat, they limit the aesthetics of the fabric, thus producing only a flat visual effect. In view of this limitation, there is a need for printing methods to obtain fabrics with more diverse and three-dimensional patterns.

[0016] As a conventional method for imparting a three-dimensional effect, a technique in the related art is proposed, which typically includes adding stone particles to a fabric to produce a three-dimensional pattern, or printing them onto the fabric to produce a three-dimensional texture.

[0017] However, the problem with conventional printing methods that impart such three-dimensional effects is that they are limited in application to inkjet printing, transfer printing, or digital textile printing, which have recently become widely used. Therefore, there is an increasing need for printing materials that can produce three-dimensional effects that differ from existing ones.

[0021] Patent Document 2: Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2009-0133031 (published on December 31, 2009) [Summary of the Invention]

[0022] Therefore, the present invention has been made to solve the aforementioned problems in the prior art, and the object of the present invention is to provide a printing material that can impart a three-dimensional velvet effect, a shimmering effect, and a modified soft tactile feel to printed products by applying a stacked, raised silicone foam having a specific composition. This overcomes the shortcomings of conventional silicone printing materials, which only provide a flat visual effect, lack or have insufficient flexibility, and result in a hard tactile feel. Furthermore, the object of the present invention is to provide printed products that have undergone printing processing using the printing material.

[0023] To achieve the above objectives, the present invention provides a raised foam silicone resin composition for printing, which includes silicone resin, a foaming agent and carbomer.

[0024] Furthermore, the present invention provides a printing agent comprising a mixture of raised foam silicone resin components.

[0025] Furthermore, the present invention provides printed products that are printed using printing agents.

[0026] Furthermore, the present invention provides a printing method using a printing agent. Effects of the Invention

[0027] The raised foam silicone resin for printing according to the present invention has the following characteristics: when the raised foam silicone resin is heat-treated at a specific temperature, it foams and raises in the form of soap bubbles. Therefore, the raised foam silicone resin applied as a printing material can impart a velvety effect and a shimmering effect (or opacity) by reflecting light onto the printing agent. In addition, the printing agent can increase the printing height of the printed product by more than two times, thereby reducing the number of printing operations and significantly reducing the production cost of the printed product. Furthermore, due to the excellent color rendering of the colorant in the printing agent, it is possible to achieve color performance using only a small amount of pigment. In addition, the printed area exhibits a soft tactile feel and also has excellent flexibility.

Implementation Method

[0029] In the following description, the invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings and examples. However, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the scope of the invention is not limited to these examples.

[0030] As used herein, the term "velvet effect" means that the texture is similar to suede or nubuck in both appearance and feel.

[0031] The raised foam silicone resin composition for printing according to the present invention comprises silicone resin (i.e., main resin) as a raised foam resin, a blowing agent, and carbomer. The raised foam silicone resin composition preferably comprises 9.7 wt% to 20.0 wt% of a blowing agent, 0.3 wt% to 1.0 wt% of carbomer, and the balance being silicone resin, and more preferably comprises 12.0 wt% to 17.0 wt% of a blowing agent, 0.4 wt% to 0.9 wt% of carbomer, and the balance being silicone resin.

[0032] The foaming agent in the silicone resin composition for printing contains C1 to C4 alcohols, preferably C1 to C3 alcohols, more preferably ethanol and / or propanol. Furthermore, alcohols that are almost 100% anhydrous are used in the foaming agent. This is because if the alcohol contains water (moisture), it may adversely affect the resin's ability to foam and protrude.

[0033] If the content of the foaming agent in the silicone resin composition for printing is less than 9.7 wt%, the suede texture effect may be insufficient. Conversely, if the content of the foaming agent in the silicone resin composition for printing exceeds 20.0 wt%, the printed product may be prone to cracking due to the excessive foaming ability of the resin, and the miscibility and dispersibility of the components in the resin may be significantly reduced due to the greatly increased viscosity of the resin. Therefore, it is preferable to use the foaming agent within the above-specified range.

[0034] Carbomer in printing silicone resin compositions is used to adjust the viscosity of the resin. If the carbomer content in the printing silicone resin composition is less than 0.3 wt%, the viscosity adjustment effect may not be observed or may be insufficient due to the low content. Conversely, if the carbomer content exceeds 1.0 wt%, the miscibility of other components in the printing agent may decrease. Therefore, it is preferable to use carbomer within the above-specified range.

[0035] Furthermore, the main resin in the silicone resin composition for printing comprises vinyl-terminated poly(C1 to C3 alkyl)siloxanes and silicon dioxide. The silicone resin preferably comprises vinyl-terminated poly(C1 to C2 alkyl)siloxanes and silicon dioxide, and more preferably comprises vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxanes and silicon dioxide.

[0036] The silica in the silica resin used in this invention may have an average particle size of 200 nm to 3,000 nm, preferably 400 nm to 2,000 nm. If the average particle size of the silica used in this invention is less than 200 nm, the following problem may occur: the printing silica resin or the printing agent containing silica resin will completely foam during heat treatment, resulting in the inability to form the desired regular foaming and raised pattern. Conversely, if the average particle size of the silica exceeds 3,000 nm, the raised pattern may be formed too randomly. Therefore, it is preferable to use silica with an average particle size within the above-specified range.

[0037] Furthermore, the silica content in the silicone resin is 19 wt% to 26 wt%, preferably 21.0 wt% to 25.0 wt%, and more preferably 21.5 wt% to 24.5 wt%. If the silica content in the silicone resin is less than 19 wt% or more than 26 wt%, the raised pattern may be formed unevenly, and therefore the opacity and velvet effect of the printed product may be insufficient. Therefore, it is preferable to use a silica content within the above-specified range.

[0038] In addition, apart from silica, the content of vinyl-terminated poly(C1 to C3 alkyl)siloxane in the silicone resin is at most 100 wt%.

[0039] The bulk-forming bulk-forming silicone resin, as a mixture of the above-mentioned components, is heat-treated at 130°C to 180°C, preferably 140°C to 180°C, more preferably 145°C to 178°C for 5 seconds or less, preferably 2 seconds to 5 seconds, to cause the bulk-forming bulk-forming silicone resin to foam and protrude, thereby producing a raised pattern in the form of soap bubbles or similar (see Figures 1a and 1b). The content of the components in the composition and the heat treatment temperature and time can be adjusted to control the degree of foaming and protrusion.

[0040] Furthermore, the stacked protruding foam silicone resin of the present invention can foam with a volume expansion ratio of 30 to 120 times, more preferably 60 to 120 times, and even more preferably 80 to 115 times.

[0041] As described above, the raised foam silicone resin is introduced as a printing material to impart a velvety effect to the printing agent, and light is reflected by the printed pattern formed on the printing area to allow the printing agent to exhibit a shimmering effect. Furthermore, the raised foam silicone resin can impart three-dimensional aesthetics and more than double the printing height of the printed product, thereby reducing the number of printing operations and significantly lowering the production cost of the printed product. In addition, due to the excellent color rendering of the pigments in the printing agent, it is possible to achieve color performance even with a small amount of pigment.

[0042] In a preferred embodiment of the printing agent, the printing agent of the present invention may comprise a raised foam silicone resin, a colorant, and an additive.

[0043] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the printing agent may include embossed foam silicone resin, colorant and additives.

[0044] The colorant may include at least one selected from pigments and dyes.

[0045] The pigment may contain at least one selected from neutral pigments and oil-based pigments. Preferably, neutral pigments are used from an eco-friendly point of view.

[0046] As a neutral pigment and / or an oil-based pigment, pigments commonly available in the relevant art can be used.

[0047] In addition, depending on the type of material to be dyed, the additives used in this invention may include: titanium dioxide, fillers, diluents, curing agents, dispersants and / or leveling agents, as well as other general additives used in related technologies.

[0048] In addition, adjusting the content of the raised foam silicone resin in the printing agent enables control over the three-dimensional aesthetics, suede texture and opacity of the printed product.

[0049] Furthermore, printing agents can be used to perform various printing processes on printed products, such as screen printing, roller printing, transfer printing, or digital textile printing. Examples

[0050] The invention will be described in further detail below with reference to examples. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these examples are for illustrative purposes only and should not be considered as limiting the scope of the invention.

[0051] Example 1: Generating a pile-shaped protruding foam silicone resin

[0052] Silicon resin is obtained by mixing 23.0 wt% of silicon dioxide with an average particle size of about 1,200 nm with 77.0 wt% of vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane.

[0053] 15.3 wt% of ethanol with a concentration of about 100% is used as a foaming agent, 0.62 wt% of carbomer and the balance of silicone resin are mixed together at most 100 wt% to obtain a stacked protruding foam silicone resin.

[0054] Examples 2 to 5 and Comparative Examples 1 to 4

[0055] Each type of raised foam silicone resin having the composition shown in Table 1 below was produced in the same manner as in Example 1, and Examples 2 to 4 and Comparative Examples 1 to 5 were performed accordingly.

[0056] Example 6

[0057] The bulging foam silicone resin was produced in the same manner as in Example 1. In this case, propanol with a concentration of approximately 100% was used instead of ethanol as the blowing agent. [Table 1] Classification (wt%) foaming agent Carbomer Silicone Silicone resin composition ethanol Silicon dioxide Vinyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane Example 1 15.3 0.62 margin 23.0 77.0 Example 2 15.3 0.36 23.0 77.0 Example 3 15.3 0.95 23.0 77.0 Example 4 12.2 0.62 23.0 77.0 Example 5 17.9 0.62 23.0 77.0 Example 6 15.3 0.62 23.0 77.0 Comparative Example 1 15.3 0.62 0 100 Comparative Example 2 15.3 0 23.0 77.0 Comparative Example 3 15.3 1.22 23.0 77.0 Comparative Example 4 9.2 0.62 23.0 77.0 Comparative Example 5 20.8 0.62 23.0 77.0

[0058] Experimental Example 1: Measuring Volume Change and Height of Raised Pattern

[0059] In the examples and comparative examples, the raised foam silicone resin produced was coated on a fabric to a thickness of about 0.4 mm, and then heat-treated at 170°C to 172°C for 4 seconds. Thereafter, the volume change of the silicone resin before and after the heat treatment was measured, and the measurement results are shown in Table 2 below.

[0060] The convex foam silicone resin obtained in Example 1 was used in Examples 7 to 8 and Comparative Examples 6 to 8 as shown in Table 2 below. The average height and volume change of the convex patterns formed by foaming and convexizing the silicone resin were measured under different heat treatment conditions. In this case, the volume change was calculated based on the average height of the convex patterns before and after heat treatment.

[0061] Furthermore, a cross-sectional photograph of the raised pattern formed by foaming and raising the raised silicone resin of Example 1 is shown in FIG1b. FIG1b shows a cross-sectional photograph.

[0062] The cross-sectional image in Figure 1b was acquired using a video microscope with a magnification of 140x after being commissioned to KOTTI Testing and Research.

[0063] Furthermore, the surface condition of the raised pattern is evaluated through comprehensive tactile and visual observation, including suede texture and coating smoothness (○: Excellent, ○: Moderate, X: Poor). [Table 2] Classification Heat treatment conditions Temperature / Time Height of raised pattern (average height) Volume change Surface condition Example 1 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.2 mm 113 times ○ Example 2 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.1 mm 98 times ○ Example 3 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.0 mm 92 times ○ Example 4 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 0.8 mm 46 times ○ Example 5 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.3 mm 135 times ○ Example 6 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.0 mm 94 times ○ Example 7 140℃ to 142℃ / 4 sec 0.8 mm 33 times Example 8 150℃ to 152℃ / 4 sec 1.0 mm 65 times ○ Comparative Example 1 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 0.7 mm 27 times X Comparative Example 2 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 0.4 mm 17 times X Comparative Example 3 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 0.8 mm 52 times Comparative Example 4 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 0.6 mm 26 times X Comparative Example 5 170℃ to 172℃ / 4 sec 1.3 mm 96 times Comparative Example 6 125℃ to 127℃ / 4 sec 0.2 mm 5 times X Comparative Example 7 190℃ to 192℃ / 4 sec 1.3 mm 143 times Comparative Example 8 170℃ to 172℃ / 6 sec 1.2 mm 112 times ○

[0064] Referring to Table 2, the printed products obtained in Examples 1 to 8 typically exhibit high formation of raised patterns, high volume change and excellent surface condition.

[0065] As a foaming agent, ethanol shows a relatively favorable tendency in terms of changes in the height and volume of the raised pattern compared to Example 6 which uses propanol.

[0066] Furthermore, in Comparative Example 1, which uses silicone resin without silicon dioxide, it was found that the foaming ability was reduced, the raised pattern was formed unevenly, and the surface condition of the raised pattern was slightly poor.

[0067] Furthermore, in Comparative Example 2 without the use of carbomer, it was found that a large amount of resin was absorbed into the fabric. As a result, a low-height raised pattern was formed and the volume change of the raised pattern was low, thereby leading to a significant reduction in suede texture.

[0068] Furthermore, in the case of Comparative Example 3, where carbomer was used in an amount of 1.2 wt%, exceeding 1.0 wt%, it was found that the foaming effect was reduced compared to Example 3.

[0069] Furthermore, in the case of Comparative Example 4, in which the foaming agent was used in an amount of 9.2 wt% less than 9.7 wt%, it was found that the change in height and volume of the raised pattern was significantly reduced compared to Example 4 (12.2 wt%), resulting in a weakening of the suede texture effect.

[0070] Furthermore, in Comparative Example 5, where the foaming agent was used at only 20.8 wt%, exceeding 20.0 wt%, the volume change of the raised pattern was found to be quite low, and the surface condition of the raised pattern was worse than in Example 5 (17.9 wt%). This was because the raised pattern was attributed to over-expansion and cracking, and the raised pattern was not uniformly formed. Therefore, it was confirmed that the surface of the printed product felt slightly hard, and the smooth texture was significantly reduced.

[0071] Furthermore, in the case of Comparative Example 6, in which the raised foam silicone resin was heat-treated at 125°C to 127°C, it was found that the formation rate and height of the raised pattern were low, resulting in a poor surface condition.

[0072] Furthermore, in the case of Comparative Example 7, in which the raised foam silicone resin was heat-treated at 190°C to 192°C, it was found that the foaming properties were good, but there was a problem with the fabric corresponding to the burning of the base material, and the raised pattern was not formed uniformly, resulting in uneven texture.

[0073] Furthermore, in the case of Comparative Example 8, in which the raised foam silicone resin was subjected to heat treatment for 6 seconds, exceeding 5 seconds, the results showed no significant difference compared to Example 1.
