Abstract

This invention proposes a feature extraction method and electronic device. The method includes: transforming input data to obtain a feature map, the feature map containing multiple feature vectors; comparing each feature vector with multiple first codes in a first codebook to obtain an index; obtaining a second code from a second codebook based on this index, wherein the first codebook is different from the second codebook; calculating an excitation quantity based on the similarity of the feature vectors; adjusting the value of the second code based on the excitation quantity; and generating an output feature map based on the adjusted second code.
