Abstract

This invention provides a swallowing monitoring and training system, comprising a muscle signal sensor, a signal processing module, and a vibration generator. The muscle signal sensor includes at least one sensing patch for attachment to the hyoid muscle group of a subject. The muscle signal sensor is used to sense a plurality of swallowing muscle signals generated during swallowing by the subject through the at least one sensing patch. The signal processing module is electrically connected to the muscle signal sensor to receive the swallowing muscle signals and to selectively generate training instructions based on the swallowing muscle signals. The vibration generator is connected to the signal processing module and the at least one sensing patch of the muscle signal sensor. The vibration generator is used to receive training instructions and generate vibrations to the at least one sensing patch and the hyoid muscle group of the subject according to the training instructions.
