Abstract

A laser thermal ablation probe includes a double-clad optical fiber, a Bragg grating, and a light diffuser. The double-clad optical fiber includes a core, a first cladding, and a second cladding. The core transmits temperature-sensing light. The first cladding covers the core to transmit laser light required for thermal ablation. The second cladding covers at least a portion of the first cladding. The Bragg grating is disposed in the core. The light diffuser is disposed at the end of the double-clad optical fiber.

Claims

1. A laser thermal ablation probe, comprising: a double-clad optical fiber, comprising: a core for transmitting temperature sensing light sent by a Bragg grating transponder; a first cladding covering the core for transmitting laser light required for thermal ablation; and a second cladding covering at least a portion of the first cladding; a Bragg grating disposed in the core; and a light diffuser disposed at an end of the double-clad optical fiber.

2. The laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 1, wherein the first cladding includes a first portion and a second portion connected together, the second cladding covers only the first portion, and the light diffusion portion is disposed on the second portion.

3. The laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 2, wherein the first portion and the second portion are connected by a processing method.

4. The laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 2, wherein the first part and the second part are integrally formed and connected.

5. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 2, wherein the light diffusion portion is a coating, the light diffusion portion is disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the second portion of the first cladding, and the refractive index of the light diffusion portion is greater than the refractive index of the second portion of the first cladding.

6. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 2, wherein the light diffusion portion is an atomization layer and the light diffusion portion is disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the second portion of the first cladding.

7. The laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 5 or 6, wherein the Bragg grating is disposed in the core and surrounded by the second portion of the first cladding and the light diffuser.

8. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 2, wherein the light diffusion portion is a conical structure and is disposed at one end of the second portion away from the first portion.

9. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 8, wherein the Bragg grating is disposed in the portion of the core surrounded by the second portion of the first cladding, and the Bragg grating is adjacent to the light diffusion portion.

10. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 1, wherein the second cladding covers the entire first cladding.

11. The laser thermal ablation probe as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light diffusion portion comprises a light-transmitting body and a plurality of scattering particles located in the light-transmitting body.

12. The laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 1, wherein the double-clad fiber and the light diffuser are coaxially configured.

13. A laser thermal ablation system comprising: a laser source for emitting laser light; a Bragg grating transponder for emitting temperature sensing light; an optical coupler connecting the laser source and the Bragg grating transponder to transmit the laser light and the temperature sensing light; and a laser thermal ablation probe as described in claim 1, connected to the optical coupler.
