Abstract
Description
Lures Technical Field
[0001] A lure, especially a lure having at least one groove. Prior Technology
[0002] Conventional lures are mostly streamlined in shape and often painted with brightly colored, reflective materials to attract fish (or schools of fish). When an angler uses conventional lures, the streamlined shape of the lure is less likely to create turbulence, eddies, or bubbles as the angler pulls and lets out the line (or rod), allowing the lure to float and move in the water. Furthermore, when fishing in low-visibility waters, the bright colors of the lure are less likely to be seen by fish (or schools of fish).
[0003] In view of this, the creator developed a design that is easy to assemble, avoiding the above-mentioned shortcomings, and is easy to install while also being inexpensive. This design takes into account both flexibility and economy, and thus this creation came into being. Summary of the Invention
[0004] The technical problem this creation aims to solve is how to make the lure generate turbulence, eddies, or bubbles to attract fish (schools).
[0005] To address the aforementioned problems and achieve the desired effect, this invention provides a lure comprising a body, a swivel, at least one hook swivel, and at least one hook. The body includes a head, a tail, and a middle section. A first end and a second end of the middle section are respectively connected to the head and tail. The middle section and tail of the body are roughly spindle-shaped. The outer surface contour of the head is approximately symmetrical to the outer surface contour of the middle section near the first end. The swivel includes a swivel connection end connected to the front side of the head and a swivel portion. The at least one hook swivel includes a connection portion connected to at least one hook and a hook swivel connection end connected to at least one of the lower half of the middle section and the tail.
[0006] In practice, the lure further includes a first groove. The first groove is at least longitudinally surrounding the lower half of one of the junctions between the midsection and the head and between the midsection and the tail.
[0007] In practice, the lure further includes a second groove portion, and the first groove portion and the second groove portion are respectively longitudinally surrounding the lower half of one of the connection between the middle section and the head and the connection between the middle section and the tail portion and the other lower half.
[0008] In practice, the lure further includes a first side groove. The first side groove is located on one of the bottom edge of the lower half of the middle section and the top edge of the upper half of the middle section.
[0009] In practice, when the first side groove is provided at the bottom edge of the lower half of the middle section, the first side groove extends to the bottom edge of the lower half of the head; or when the first side groove is provided at the top edge of the upper half of the middle section, the first side groove extends to the top edge of the upper half of the head.
[0010] In practice, the lure further includes a second side groove. The first side groove and the second side groove are respectively provided on one of the bottom edge of the lower half of the middle section and the top edge of the upper half of the middle section.
[0011] In practice, the first side groove and the second side groove extend to the top edge of the upper half of the head and the bottom edge of the lower half of the head, respectively.
[0012] During implementation, the second side groove extends to the tail.
[0013] During implementation, the first side groove extends to the tail.
[0014] In practice, the first groove and the second groove are respectively longitudinally surrounding one of the connection between the middle section and the head and the connection between the middle section and the tail, and the other of the two.
[0015] In practice, the first groove is at least longitudinally surrounding one of the points where the middle section connects to the head and the middle section connects to the tail.
[0016] When implemented, the lure can float on the water.
[0017] During implementation, the weight of the lure is balanced from left to right, and the center of gravity of the lure is located in the lower half of the middle section, and the center of gravity is close to a vertical line passing through the geometric center of the body.
[0018] During implementation, the weight of the lure is balanced from left to right, with one of the lure's centers of gravity located in the lower half of the middle section, and the center of gravity located between the tail and a vertical line passing through one of the geometric centers of the body.
[0019] In practice, the front side of the head has a groove, and the loop connection end is connected to the bottom of one of the grooves.
[0020] During implementation, the depth of the groove is greater than or equal to 1 mm and less than or equal to 8 mm.
[0021] To further understand this invention, the following preferred embodiments are provided, along with drawings and figure numbers, to explain in detail the specific components of this invention and the effects it achieves. Simple Explanation of the Diagram
[0022] [Figure 1] is a side view of a specific embodiment of one of the artificial baits of this invention. [Figure 2] is a top view of a specific embodiment of Figure 1. [Figure 3] is a three-dimensional schematic diagram of a specific embodiment of Figure 1. Implementation
[0023] Please refer to Figures 1-3, which are respectively side view, top view, and perspective view of a specific embodiment of the lure of this invention. In this embodiment, the lure 1 of this invention includes: a body 2, a fishing line swivel 7, a first hook swivel 72, a first hook 75, a second hook swivel 76, and a second hook 79. The arrows in Figure 1 indicate the front-to-back direction of the body 2. The body 2 includes: a head 20, a tail 21, a middle section 22, a front groove 3, a rear groove 4, an upper groove 5, and a lower groove 6. The middle section 22 is located between the head 20 and the tail 21. The head 20 includes: an upper half 23 and a lower half 24. A groove 200 is located on the front side of the head 20. The tail 21 includes: an upper half 25 and a lower half 26. The middle section 22 includes: an upper middle section 27 and a lower middle section 28. The fishing swivel 7 includes a swivel connection end 70 and a swivel portion 71. The swivel connection end 70 is connected to the center of the bottom of one of the grooves 200 in the head 20. An angler can tie (fix) a fishing line (not shown) to the swivel portion 71. The first hook swivel 72 includes a first hook swivel connection end 73 and a first connecting swivel portion 74. The first hook swivel connection end 73 is connected to the tail end 210 of the tail portion 21. The first hook 75 is connected to the first connecting swivel portion 74 of the first hook swivel 72. The second hook swivel 76 includes a second hook swivel connection end 77 and a second connecting swivel portion 78. The second hook swivel connection end 77 is connected to the lower half of the middle section 28. The second hook 79 is connected to the second connecting swivel portion 78 of the second hook swivel 76. The lure 1 of this invention is floatable. The weight of the lure 1 is balanced from left to right and approximately balanced from front to back. The center of gravity 10 of lure 1 is located in the lower half of the middle section 28 (that is, below the horizontal bisecting plane 11 of body 2) and is adjacent to a vertical line 13 passing through the geometric center 12 of body 2. The weight of lure 1 is balanced from left to right, so that lure 1 does not rotate when floating in water. The weight of lure 1 is roughly balanced from front to back, so that lure 1 floats roughly horizontally when floating in water. The weight of lure 1 is biased downward (below the horizontal bisecting plane 11 of lure 1), so that lure 1 is more stable when floating in water and less prone to wobbling.
[0024] The front groove 3 of the lure 1 is longitudinally surrounding the connection between the head 20 and the middle section 22, wherein a cross-section 14 along the bottom of one groove of the front groove 3 is perpendicular to the front-back direction of the body 2. The rear groove 4 of the lure 1 is longitudinally surrounding the connection between the tail 21 and the middle section 22, wherein a cross-section 15 along the bottom of one groove of the rear groove 4 is perpendicular to the front-back direction of the body 2. The upper groove 5 of the lure 1 is located at the top edge 270 of the upper half of the middle section 27, and the two ends of the upper groove 5 extend to the top edge 230 of the upper half of the head 20 and the upper half 25 of the tail 21, respectively. The cross section 16 along the bottom of the groove of the upper groove 5 is perpendicular to the cross section 14 of the bottom of the groove of the front groove 3 and the cross section 15 of the bottom of the groove of the rear groove 4. The two ends of the upper groove 5 intersect with the front groove 3 and the rear groove 4, respectively, and the groove depth of the two ends of the upper groove 5 is different from the groove depth of the front groove 3 and the groove depth of the rear groove 4. The lower groove 6 of the lure 1 is located at the bottom edge 280 of the lower half of the middle section 28, and the two ends of the lower groove 6 extend to the bottom edge 240 of the lower half 24 of the head 20 and the lower half 26 of the tail 21, respectively. The cross-section 16 along the bottom of the groove of the lower groove 6 (which coincides with the cross-section 16 along the bottom of the groove of the upper groove 5) is perpendicular to the cross-section 14 of the bottom of the groove of the front groove 3 and the cross-section 15 of the bottom of the groove of the rear groove 4. The two ends of the lower groove 6 intersect with the front groove 3 and the rear groove 4, respectively, and the groove depth of the two ends of the lower groove 6 is different from the groove depth of the front groove 3 and the groove depth of the rear groove 4. The middle section 22 and the tail 21 of the lure 1 are approximately spindle-shaped. Except for the groove 200 of the head 20, the outer surface contour of the head 20 is approximately symmetrical about the outer surface contour of the first quarter section of the middle section 22 along the cross-section 14 (or the front groove 3). Section 16 intersects the horizontal bisecting plane 11 perpendicularly to form a centerline 17, and the groove 200 of the head 20 is approximately symmetrical about the centerline 17. The depth of the groove 200 can be approximately 1 mm, approximately 2 mm, approximately 3 mm, approximately 4 mm, approximately 5 mm, approximately 6 mm, approximately 7 mm, or approximately 8 mm. In some embodiments, the depth of the groove 200 is greater than or equal to 1 mm and less than or equal to 8 mm.
[0025] The lure 1 of this invention can be coated with a brightly colored, reflective material on its body 2. When the angler pulls or releases the fishing line (or rod), causing the lure 1 to float and move in the water, the direction of movement of the lure 1 will change depending on how the angler pulls or releases the line (or rod). Sometimes the direction of movement of the lure 1 is along its front-to-back direction; but most of the time, the direction of movement of the lure 1 has not only a front-to-back component, but also a left-to-right component. The lure 1 of this invention is specially designed with a front groove 3, a rear groove 4, an upper groove 5, and a lower groove 6, which helps to generate turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles. In particular, the front groove 3 and the rear groove 4 are particularly prone to generating turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles when the movement direction of the lure 1 has a component in the forward-backward direction. When the movement direction of the lure 1 has a component in the left-right direction, the upper groove 5 and the lower groove 6 are prone to generating turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles. Most of the time, the movement direction of the lure 1 has both forward-backward and left-right components. Therefore, the front groove 3, the rear groove 4, the upper groove 5, and the lower groove 6 of the lure 1 in this invention all help to generate turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles. The turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles generated will spread outward in the water, thereby more effectively attracting fish (schools) to bite the lure 1. Therefore, when anglers use the lure 1 created in this invention to fish in waters with low visibility, even if the fish (or schools of fish) cannot easily see the bright colors of the lure 1, the turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles generated by the movement of the front groove 3, rear groove 4, upper groove 5, and lower groove 6 of the lure 1 will allow the fish (or schools of fish) to detect movement in the water and be attracted to bite the lure 1. Of course, when fishing in waters with high visibility, the turbulence, eddies, or even bubbles generated by the movement of the lure 1 will also be effective. Since the fish (or schools of fish) are not necessarily looking in the direction of the lure 1 at all times, when the lure 1 is not far from the fish (or schools of fish), the lure 1 may not be seen by the fish (or schools of fish). However, the turbulence, eddies, and even bubbles generated by the movement of the front groove 3, rear groove 4, upper groove 5, and lower groove 6 of the lure 1 are easily noticed by fish (or schools of fish), causing them to focus their attention on the source of the turbulence, eddies, or bubbles (i.e., the location of the lure 1). Furthermore, the head 20 of the lure 1 features a groove 200, an upper groove 5 extending to the top edge 230 of the upper half 23 of the head 20, and a lower groove 6 extending to the bottom edge 240 of the lower half 24 of the head 20. Therefore, the design of the head 20 of the lure 1 further facilitates the generation of turbulence, eddies, and even bubbles near the head 20 of the lure 1, and also helps to generate more turbulence, eddies, and even bubbles in the vicinity of the front groove 3.
