Description

Artemisia moxibustion device Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to a physiotherapy device, particularly a moxibustion device using indirect moxibustion. Prior Technology

[0002] Traditional Chinese medicine moxibustion uses moxa wool or medicinal herbs to warm acupoints as a means of regulating the body (e.g., massage) or treating ailments. It is mainly divided into two categories: moxibustion (direct and indirect moxibustion) and non-moxibustion (such as Tianjiu and fire needles). Indirect moxibustion includes methods such as acupressure and warming. Warming moxibustion, also known as fumigation, utilizes the bitter, pungent, warming, and purely yang properties of mugwort. By burning mugwort or moxa cones, the medicinal properties of mugwort are absorbed through the skin into the meridians and acupoints. The known method involves bringing the lit mugwort or moxa cone close to the acupoints to create a warming effect, thereby producing therapeutic or massage-like effects.

[0003] In the common practice of moxibustion, the user holds a lit moxa stick or moxa cone about 2 to 3 centimeters away from the acupoint and applies heat. This handheld method makes it difficult to maintain a fixed heat distance, and therefore, it is difficult to control the heat temperature. On the other hand, if the embers from the burning process are accidentally dropped onto the skin, it can cause accidental burns or scalds.

[0004] To address the aforementioned issues, the development of a safe, reliable, temperature-stable, and easy-to-use moxibustion device is a goal anticipated by relevant businesses and users. In view of this, the creator of this new invention, based on years of experience in related work, has continuously researched and improved upon the aforementioned goals to complete this practical creation. Summary of the Invention

[0005] The purpose of this invention is to solve the aforementioned problems caused by traditional handheld moxibustion, and to provide a moxa moxibustion device that provides stable and continuous heat output.

[0006] To solve the above-mentioned technical problems, a preferred embodiment of this novel moxibustion device includes:

[0007] A main body is a hollow tubular body that forms a combustion chamber inside it. The front end of the main body has a large front opening and the rear end of the main body has a small rear opening. The front end of the main body is provided with a first thread and the rear end of the main body is provided with a second thread. The main body has several air inlets, which are arranged on the side walls of the main body and at symmetrical axis positions.

[0008] A front cover has a support plate and a tubular side wall. The support plate is located in the middle of the inner part of the side wall. The support plate has several through holes. A third thread is provided at one axial end of the side wall. The front cover is detachably screwed into the first thread by means of the third thread.

[0009] A tail cap has a base plate and a tubular sidewall surrounding the base plate. The center of the inner side of the base plate has a screw hole, and the base plate has several vent holes penetrating the base plate. A fourth thread is provided at one axial end of the tubular sidewall, and the tail cap is detachably screwed into the second thread by means of the fourth thread.

[0010] A heat-conducting column has a screw at its tail end, which is detachably screwed into a screw hole in the tail cap. The long axis of the heat-conducting column extends along the axial direction of the main body. A gap exists between the heat-conducting column and the inner surface of the main body to form an airflow channel. The front end of the heat-conducting column has a needle rod.

[0011] Multiple massage blocks are arranged on the side of the front cover's support plate facing the human body.

[0012] Preferably, the perforations in the support plate are distributed at equal intervals in a position radiating outwards from the center of the support plate.

[0013] Preferably, the bearing plate is either a flat plate or an arc-shaped plate, wherein the arc-shaped plate is recessed in the direction of the main body.

[0014] Preferably, the screw hole in the bottom plate of the tail cover is a blind hole.

[0015] Preferably, the needle rod system is disposed in the combustion chamber of the main body and extends axially, and the tip of the needle rod is separated from the support plate by a distance.

[0016] Preferably, the massage block is constructed of a column and a spherical portion located at the top of the column, and the bottom end of the column is connected to a support plate.

[0017] Preferably, the bottom end of the massage block's column is inserted into the support plate.

[0018] Preferably, these massage blocks are integrally molded with the support plate.

[0019] Preferably, the main body, front cover, tail cover and multiple massage blocks are made of aluminum alloy, and the heat-conducting pillars are made of stainless steel.

[0020] Preferably, the outer surface of the main body is arc-shaped and gradually narrows from the front opening to the rear opening, forming an arc-shaped neck at the junction of the tail cover and the rear opening.

[0021] The advantages and functions of this new type of moxibustion device are as follows: during use, external air enters the combustion chamber through the air inlet of the main body, then passes through the airflow channel, and finally exits from the exhaust port of the tail cap. During the combustion process, the moxa blocks produce smoke in the airflow channel. The heat is evenly distributed to the main body through the heat-conducting column as the mugwort blocks burn, and the resulting heat radiates to the main body, creating a stable and continuous heat output. The heat released during the burning of the mugwort blocks is stable and does not directly contact the main body, preventing burns from overheating. Furthermore, when the front cover is screwed onto the front of the main body, the heat from the main body is evenly transferred to the front cover's support plate and the multiple massage blocks. The mugwort moxibustion device performs moxibustion on the body surface, and the multiple massage blocks simultaneously achieve both "thermal contact" and "mechanical pressure." Moreover, the main body, front cover, tail cover, and heat-conducting column are all detachable, facilitating cleaning and material replacement.

[0022] The specific embodiments, technical features, and effects of this novel invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Simple Explanation of the Diagram

[0030] Please refer to Figures 1 to 3, which exemplarily reveal the structural diagram, exploded structural diagram and cross-sectional structural diagram of a preferred embodiment of the novel moxibustion device.

[0031] A preferred embodiment of this novel moxibustion device includes: a main body 10, a front cover 20, a tail cover 30, a heat-conducting column 40, and a plurality of massage blocks 50.

[0032] The main body 10 is a hollow tubular body for forming a combustion chamber C inside it. Preferably, the main body 10 is shaped like a trumpet. The front end of the main body 10 has a large front opening 101, and the rear end of the main body 10 has a smaller rear opening 102. The front end of the main body 10 is provided with a first thread 11, and the rear end of the main body 10 is provided with a second thread 12. The main body 10 has several air inlets 13, which are arranged on the side wall of the main body 10 and symmetrically positioned. In a preferred embodiment, the axial direction of the air inlets 13 extends along the radial direction of the main body 10.

[0033] The front cover 20 has a support plate 21 and a tubular side wall portion 22. The support plate 21 is located in the middle of the interior of the side wall portion 22. The support plate 21 has several through holes 24 penetrating the support plate 21. These through holes 24 are distributed at equal intervals around the support plate 21 in a radial pattern. In another preferred embodiment, these through holes 24 can also be arranged in an array on the support plate 21. A third thread 23 is provided at one axial end of the side wall portion 22. The front cover 20 is detachably screwed into the first thread 11 of the main body portion 10 by means of the third thread 23. The front cover 20 can also be separated from the main body portion 10. In a preferred embodiment, the support plate 21 is a flat plate. In another preferred embodiment, the support plate 21 is an arc-shaped plate recessed towards the main body portion 10 (see Figure 4).

[0034] The tail cap 30 has a base plate 31 and a tubular sidewall 32 surrounding the base plate 31. The center of the inner side surface of the base plate 31 (the side facing the combustion chamber C of the main body 10) has a screw hole 311. In a preferred embodiment, the screw hole 311 is a blind hole, that is, the screw hole 311 does not penetrate the base plate 31. The base plate 31 has several exhaust holes 33 that penetrate the base plate 31. In one embodiment, these exhaust holes 33 surround the screw hole 311. A fourth thread 34 is provided at one axial end of the tubular sidewall 32. The tail cap 30 is detachably screwed into the second thread 12 of the main body 10 by means of the fourth thread 34.

[0035] A heat-conducting column 40 has a screw 41 at its tail end, which is detachably screwed into the screw hole 311 of the tail cap 30. The long axis of the heat-conducting column 40 extends along the axial direction of the main body 10. There is a gap between the heat-conducting column 40 and the inner side of the main body 10 to form an airflow channel A. In a preferred embodiment, the heat-conducting column 40 and the main body 10 are coaxial. The front end of the heat-conducting column 40 has a needle 42 for piercing the mugwort block B (or mugwort column, see Figure 5), thereby fixing the mugwort block B to the front end of the heat-conducting column 40 and inside the combustion chamber C. In a preferred embodiment, after the mugwort block B is fixed to the needle 42, the mugwort block B will not contact the support plate 21 and the main body 10. The preferred position of the needle 42 is in the combustion chamber C of the main body 10 and extends axially. The preferred position of the tip of the needle 42 is a distance away from the support plate 21.

[0036] Among them, the main body 10, front cover 20, tail cover 30 and heat conduction column 40 are all detachable structures, which facilitates cleaning and material replacement.

[0037] A plurality of massage blocks 50 are disposed on the side of the support plate 21 of the front cover 20 facing the human body. The plurality of massage blocks 50 are used to directly contact the human body. A preferred embodiment of the massage block 50 includes a column 51 and a spherical portion 52 located at the top of the column 51. The bottom end of the column 51 is connected to the support plate 21.

[0038] In a preferred embodiment of this invention, the main body 10, front cover 20, tail cover 30, heat-conducting pillar 40, and multiple massage blocks 50 are all made of metal. In a preferred example, the main body 10, front cover 20, tail cover 30, and multiple massage blocks 50 are made of aluminum alloy, and the heat-conducting pillar 40 is made of stainless steel.

[0039] In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the bottom end of the column 51 of the massage block 50 can be inserted into the support plate 21; in another preferred embodiment, the plurality of massage blocks 50 are integrally formed with the support plate 21.

[0040] In a preferred embodiment, the outer surface of the main body 10 is arc-shaped and gradually narrows from the front opening 101 to the rear opening 102, forming an arc-shaped neck N at the junction of the tail cap 30 and the rear opening 102 (see Figure 5), which allows the user to comfortably hold it with their thumb and forefinger, providing the advantage of flexible operation; preferably, the outer surface of the main body 10 can be provided with an embossed surface to increase the friction when holding it, as shown in Figure 5. When using it, the user holds the main body 10 with their hand, so that the front opening 101 of the main body 10 is close to or in contact with the human body surface (such as the shoulder) to perform moxibustion.

[0041] When the mugwort block B is burning, outside air enters the combustion chamber C through the air inlet 13 of the main body 10, then passes through the airflow channel A, and finally exits from the exhaust port 33 of the tail cap 30. During the combustion process, the mugwort block B will produce smoke in the airflow channel A. Preferably, a movable shielding door can be provided on the outer side of the main body 10 at the position corresponding to the air inlet 13. For example, an annular shielding door that can rotate around the main body 10 can be used to adjust the size of the air inlet 13 to control the amount of air entering the combustion chamber C and provide the function of controlling the burning time of the mugwort block B. While the mugwort block B is burning, it will also raise the temperature of the heat-conducting column 40, and the generated temperature can also be radiated to the main body 10, forming a stable and continuous heat output. The heat energy generated by the mugwort block B during combustion is released stably and does not directly contact the main body 10, which can prevent the risk of burns caused by the excessive temperature of the main body 10.

[0042] On the other hand, as shown in Figure 6, when the front cover 20 is screwed onto the front end of the main body 10, the temperature of the main body 10 can also be evenly transmitted to the support plate 21 of the front cover 20 and the multiple massage blocks 50. When the moxibustion device performs moxibustion on the human body surface, the multiple massage blocks 50 can simultaneously achieve the effects of "warm contact" and "mechanical pressing", such as combing and massaging the user's head.

[0043] Although the present invention has been disclosed above through the above embodiments, it is not intended to limit the present invention. Anyone skilled in the art can make some modifications and refinements without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of patent protection of the present invention shall be determined by the claims attached to this specification.
