Abstract

An arc-proof connector with a surrounding conductive mechanism includes an insulating shell, a first power terminal, an insulating base, a suppression element, and a conductive element. The suppression element (resistor) is mounted on the insulating base, which is mounted outside the first power terminal. The conductive element is mounted on the insulating base, with its front end extending beyond the insulating base and surrounding the outside of the first power terminal. The suppression element is electrically connected to the first power terminal and the conductive element. When the arc-proof connector and a mating connector are plugged in, the power terminal of the mating connector first contacts the conductive element, thus suppressing the current using the suppression element. Only after further mating do the power terminals of the two connectors become electrically connected. This effectively prevents arcing damage to components during connection, and the structure is simple, robust, and offers good contact reliability.
