Abstract

This application discloses a braking device for an electric motor, comprising an electric motor body, a rotating shaft, a braking mechanism, and a stop mechanism. The rotating shaft passes through the center of the electric motor body. The braking mechanism includes a brake ring sleeved on the rotating shaft and a helical spring wound around the outer circumference of the brake ring. The helical spring has a first positioning arm and a second positioning arm, the first positioning arm being embedded and fixed to the brake ring. The stop mechanism is disposed on the electric motor body and is used to embed and fix the second positioning arm. The rotation direction of the rotating shaft is the same as or opposite to the rotation direction of the helical spring, and the first positioning arm is constrained by the brake ring, thereby causing the brake ring to either tighten and brake or expand and release the rotating shaft. This improves the stability and reliability of the braking.

Claims

1. A braking device for an electric motor, comprising: an electric motor body; a rotating shaft passing through the center of the electric motor body; a braking mechanism including a brake ring sleeved on the rotating shaft and a helical spring wound around the outer circumference of the brake ring, the helical spring having a first positioning arm and a second positioning arm, the first positioning arm being embedded and fixed in the brake ring; and a stop mechanism disposed on the electric motor body, the stop mechanism being for the second positioning arm to be embedded and fixed; wherein when the rotation direction of the rotating shaft is the same as the helix direction of the helical spring, the first positioning arm is constrained by the brake ring, thereby causing the brake ring to tighten and brake the rotating shaft; when the rotation direction of the rotating shaft is opposite to the helix direction of the helical spring, the first positioning arm is constrained by the brake ring, thereby causing the brake ring to expand and release the rotating shaft.

2. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frictional force for braking the rotation of the shaft is formed between the brake ring and the shaft.

3. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the braking ring is a C-shaped ring having an open groove.

4. The braking device for the electric motor as described in claim 3, wherein one end of the C-ring is provided with a flange, and a hole is provided above the flange for the first positioning arm to be fitted and fixed.

5. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 3, wherein the C-ring has a notch for the first positioning arm to be fitted and fixed.

6. The braking device for the electric motor as described in claim 3, wherein the first positioning arm is embedded and fixed in the opening slot.

7. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 3, wherein an oil groove is provided inside the C-ring and a rough texture is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the C-ring.

8. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the helical spring includes a helical portion wound around the outer circumferential surface of the brake ring, a first positioning arm extending from one end of the helical portion, and a second positioning arm extending from one end of the helical portion away from the first positioning arm.

9. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 1, wherein the stop mechanism includes a cap and a fastening element, the cap being fixed to the motor body through the fastening element.

10. The braking device for the electric motor as claimed in claim 9, wherein the cap has a cavity for accommodating the braking mechanism, a stop groove communicating with each other is provided on one side of the cavity, and the second positioning arm is disposed in the stop groove.
