Abstract

This invention provides a dental orthodontic appliance. The appliance includes a body and clasps. The body has a base, a pair of first sidewalls and a second sidewall, with symmetrical openings between the two pairs of sidewalls allowing the orthodontic wire to pass through. A self-ligation zone is formed between the openings. The clasps are located between the first sidewalls and include a handle and a protrusion. By operating the handle, the protrusion can be moved in and out of the self-ligation zone to adjust the pressure and release of the orthodontic wire. This invention enables rapid self-ligation, achieving adjustable clasp fixation and stable fixation, improving clinical efficiency and treatment reliability.

Claims

1. A dental orthodontic appliance, comprising a dental aligner wire, including: A main body comprising a base, two first sidewalls, and two second sidewalls, the two first sidewalls and the two second sidewalls being respectively disposed on both sides of the base, and each of the two first sidewalls and the two second sidewalls having a symmetrical opening to allow the orthopedic wire to pass through the two openings between the two first sidewalls and the two second sidewalls, wherein the area between the two openings is a self-ligation zone; a fastener disposed between the two first sidewalls, comprising a handle and a protrusion, the handle being used to adjust the degree of fastening of the protrusion to the orthopedic wire in the self-ligation zone.

2. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 1, wherein the fastener further includes a shaft passing through the two first sidewalls to provide clockwise or counterclockwise rotation of the fastener and thereby drive the protrusion to press or release the orthodontic wire.

3. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 1, wherein the self-ligation area is a right-angled groove to accommodate the rectangular or square orthodontic wire.

4. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 1 further includes a top cover that is secured between the two second sidewalls.

5. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 4, wherein the inner surfaces of the two second sidewalls each have a symmetrical track, providing the top cover to slide into the body along the track.

6. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 5, wherein the top cover has a symmetrical protrusion or a recess on each side, allowing the top cover to slide in the track through the protrusion or the recess.

7. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 5, wherein the inner surface of the top cover further has at least two limiting grooves disposed along the track direction.

8. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 7 further includes a wire rail, one end of which is disposed in the self-ligation zone for accommodating the orthodontic wire.

9. The orthodontic appliance of claim 8, wherein the wire guide is flexible and a free end of the other end extends toward the inner surface of the top cover and abuts against the limiting groove to secure the top cover in a first position.

10. The orthodontic appliance of claim 9, wherein the top cover slides along the track, and the free end disengages from the previously abutted limiting groove until it abuts against another limiting groove, thereby fixing the top cover in a second position.

11. The orthodontic appliance of claim 10, wherein the top cover exposes the self-ligation area when it is in the first position, and closes the self-ligation area when it is in the second position.

12. The orthodontic appliance of claim 8, wherein the wire track is flexible and, when pressed by the protrusion, will deform to compress the orthodontic wire.

13. The orthodontic appliance as claimed in claim 1, wherein the base is fixed to the surface of the crown and the orthodontic wire is secured by the fastener to generate external force on the crown.
