Abstract

This new type of system is a corporate social return on investment (SROI) management system installed on a computer or server and interacting with users through a graphical user interface. It assists enterprises in automatically calculating the corresponding social return on investment value based on the inputs, outputs, and results of social impact projects. It includes a project setting module for inputting or selecting basic information such as project name, period, location, scope, stakeholders, and input and output items; and a result chain construction module for displaying causal relationship settings for input, output, and result columns on the graphical interface, allowing users to build the result chain structure. It also includes a financial agency variable database module to store financial agency variables corresponding to social, environmental and economic outcomes, their monetization values and data sources, and to enable users to associate outcomes with corresponding financial agency variables to convert intangible outcomes into monetized value. This module further includes an impact factor setting module to set deadweight factors, attribution factors, decay factors and transfer factors for each outcome, a calculation parameter setting module to set the discount rate, evaluation period and total input cost, and a social rate of return calculation module to calculate the socialized rate of return and display the corresponding results on a graphical interface.

Claims

1. A corporate social return on investment management system, installed on a computer or server and interacting with users through a graphical user interface, the corporate social return on investment management system comprising: A project setup module, connected to the computer's processor, includes multiple input fields or multiple options on the graphical user interface (GUI) for users to input or select basic project information, including project name, execution period, location, project scope, key stakeholders, and the project's input resources and outputs. A result chain construction module, connected to the project setup module and the processor, displays a causal relationship setting screen on the GUI for an input column, an output column, and a result column, allowing users to establish relationships between these columns to define the project's outcomes. The system includes: a financial agency variable database module connected to the processor, which stores financial agency variables corresponding to multiple social, environmental, and economic outcomes, along with their monetization values and data source information. A graphical user interface provides a query and selection interface, allowing users to associate selected outcomes with corresponding financial agency variables to convert intangible outcomes into monetized value; and an impact factor setting module connected to the outcome chain construction module and the graphical user interface, providing the ability to set deadweight, attribution, and attenuation factors for each outcome. The system includes input fields or control interfaces for drop-off and displacement factors to obtain the impact adjustment ratios for each outcome; a calculation parameter setting module connected to the processor, providing input fields on the graphical user interface for users to set the discount rate, evaluation period, and total input cost, wherein the total input cost includes the total monetized amount of the project's financial expenditures, volunteer time, and material donations; and a social return on investment calculation module connected to the project setting module, the outcome chain construction module, the financial agent variable database module, and the... The impact factor setting module and the calculation parameter setting module, the social return on investment calculation module convert the results into monetized values based on the financial agency variables corresponding to each result, and adjust the impact according to the deadweight factors, attribution factors, decay factors and transfer factors of each result. Then, the adjusted result value of each period is discounted according to the discount rate to sum up into a social impact net present value. The corresponding socialized investment return rate value is calculated according to the formula SROI = social impact net present value ÷ total input cost. The social impact net present value and socialized investment return rate value of each project are displayed on the graphical user interface.

2. The social return on investment management system of the enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the result chain construction module provides a control interface for drag-and-drop or click operations on the graphical user interface, so that users can establish the causal relationship by dragging or clicking on the items in the input column, the output column and the result column. The graphical user interface further displays a graphical visualization of the result chain, showing the causal relationship between the input, the output and the result with nodes and lines.

3. The social return on investment management system for enterprises as described in claim 1, wherein the financial agency variable database module stores the monetized values of each financial agency variable in correspondence with their data source information, and the data source information includes at least the literature source, the year of the survey, and a description of the sample population.

4. The corporate social investment return rate management system as described in claim 1, wherein the graphical user interface further displays the data source information for each financial agency variable, allowing the user to view it together when selecting the financial agency variable.

5. The corporate social investment return rate management system as described in claim 4, wherein the financial agency variable database module allows users to add custom financial agency variables and write their monetized values and data source information into the financial agency variable database module.

6. The social investment return rate management system of the enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the impact factor setting module provides input fields for each of the deadweight factors, attribution factors, attenuation factors and transfer factors in percentage form on the graphical user interface; the impact factor setting module stores a set of deadweight factors, attribution factors, attenuation factors and transfer factors for different stakeholder groups, so that each result can be adjusted according to the impact of the stakeholder group.

7. The social investment return rate management system of the enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the calculation parameter setting module provides multiple discount rate setting modes, including a fixed discount rate mode and an annual variable discount rate mode, and stores the discount rate parameters under each mode.

8. The social return on investment management system for an enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the social return on investment calculation module further calculates and displays the annual social impact cash flow statement for each period, and outputs it in tabular form on the graphical user interface.

9. The social return on investment management system for an enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the social return on investment calculation module further calculates social return on investment values for multiple scenarios, including a baseline scenario, an optimistic scenario, and a pessimistic scenario, and displays the social return on investment values for each scenario on the graphical user interface.

10. The social return on investment management system of the enterprise as described in claim 1, wherein the graphical user interface further provides a report export function to export the net present value of social impact and the socialized return on investment value as a file format.
