Abstract

A motorcycle includes a frame, an engine, and a support device. The engine includes a housing and an exhaust system. The support device includes a frame mounted on the housing, a buffer member inserted into the frame, an insert member disposed within the buffer member, a connector disposed on the exhaust system, and an assembly member passing through the connector and connected to the insert member. The support device provides support to the exhaust system to distribute the stress borne by the front section of the exhaust system. Simultaneously, the buffer member effectively reduces vibrations generated by the engine. This allows the catalytic converter to be positioned further forward of the exhaust pipe, enabling it to be heated to a suitable operating temperature by the exhaust gas and thus achieve the required conversion efficiency more quickly.

Claims

1. A straddle-type vehicle, comprising: a frame including a chassis, a steering mechanism pivotally mounted on the chassis, and at least one drive wheel; an engine mounted on the chassis and providing power to the at least one drive wheel, the engine including a housing and an exhaust mechanism; and a support device including a frame mounted on the housing, a buffer member inserted into the frame, an insert member disposed within the buffer member, a connector disposed on the exhaust mechanism, and an assembly member passing through the connector and connected to the insert member.

2. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 1, wherein, The support device has a frame with a U-shaped cross-section, and the two ends of the frame abut against the engine housing and are assembled with the housing. The frame defines an opening facing the housing. When the frame is removed from the housing, the opening allows the buffer to pass through and be placed into the frame.

3. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 2, wherein, The frame of the support device also has a flange that connects to the frame and stops on the outside of the buffer along a vehicle width direction.

4. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 3, wherein, The buffer of the support device abuts against the inner surface of the frame body and has a through hole for the insert to pass through, and a plurality of slots extending through the vehicle width direction and each extending perpendicular to the vehicle width direction.

5. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 4, wherein, The buffer member has a main hole section and a limiting hole section connected to the main hole section and having a diameter larger than that of the main hole section. The insert has a tube portion located within the main hole section and a limiting portion connected to the tube portion and located within the limiting hole section.

6. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 5, wherein, The limiting hole section of the buffer is located inside the main hole section along the vehicle width direction, and the flange of the frame is located outside the main hole section along the vehicle width direction.

7. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 2, wherein, The supporting device extends along a vehicle width direction and is connected to the insert, and the opening of the frame is perpendicular to the vehicle width direction.

8. The straddle-type vehicle as described in claim 1, wherein, The buffer component of the support device is made of rubber, the frame is made of sheet metal, the insert is made of nuts, and the assembly component is made of bolts.
