Benefits of technology

The present invention is a capping system that includes a male part with discontinuous threads and a female part with a matching inner perimeter shape. The male part has an outer perimeter cross-sectional shape, while the female part has a female discontinuity, such as a wedge or protrusion. The invention also includes a bottle capping system where the male part has a hollow tube with projections extending from it, and the female part has an opening in its bottom to allow the projections and hollow tube to pass through, thereby engaging the threads of the male part with the threads of the female part. These capping systems provide a secure and reliable seal for bottles and other containers.

Problems solved by technology

This procedure is inefficient because the consumer must go through several cleaning steps.
Current dispensers are not adequate for one hand application of cleaning and disinfecting compositions to cleaning substrates such as paper towels.
However, these systems have some drawbacks such as requiring water activation of a dry substrate or requiring a sealed packaging for a wet substrate.

Abstract

A pump dispenser has a large ergonomic actuator designed to ergonomically deliver a composition to a substrate in the consumer's hand without the consumer having to pick up the pump dispenser. The ergonomic design allows the composition to be delivered in a proper aspect ratio to the substrate. The composition can be delivered in such a way that the composition is not aerosolized into the air or delivered to an unintended surface. The method of delivery can be made intuitive to the consumer by providing an actuator skirt that suggests the pumping mechanism or by providing a depiction of a hand or substrate over the pump dispenser. The pump dispenser is also useful for compositions or substrates that are not stable together. The pump dispenser may be designed with refill bottle capping systems such that only certain refill bottles may fit into the pump dispenser.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION[0001]1. Field of the Invention[0002]This invention relates to bottle capping systems, and, more particularly, to bottle capping systems for use with refill bottles of pump dispensing packages.[0003]2. Description of the Related Art[0004]Consumers have traditionally applied cleaning and disinfecting compositions by spraying on a surface and wiping with a paper towel or by adding a cleaner to a sponge, activating with water, wiping with the sponge, and rinsing the sponge. This procedure is inefficient because the consumer must go through several cleaning steps.[0005]Current dispensers are not adequate for one hand application of cleaning and disinfecting compositions to cleaning substrates such as paper towels. Dispensers such as trigger sprayers or pump dispensers generally require one hand to hold and activate the dispenser and one hand to hold the cleaning substrates. Existing pump-up dispensers that can be ergonomically operated with the same hand that ...
