Heel spring mechanism for shoes

Abstract

The invention relates to a mechanism constructed to enclose a portion of the foot compartment in the heel region of footwear, comprising a control bar with a middle section, a first lateral section extending from the middle section, and a second control bar positioned away from the first lateral section and extending from the middle section. The control bar has a series of thin plates. The base supports the control rod and is connected to the first and second side arms. The control rod is pushed to the stress-free position with the middle section at the first distance from the base and bends elastically under the applied force to the loaded position with the middle section at the second distance from the base, which is smaller than the first distance. The mechanism stores potential energy that causes the control rod to return to the stress-free position when the applied load is removed.
