Abstract

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for decoding data from a video recorder. An example device for decoding video data includes memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in the circuitry and configured to: determine that adaptive loop tilter (ALF) information can be present in the image header of the video data image and cannot be present in the slide header; In response to the determination that ALF information may or may not be present in the image title, the determination that the image title syntactic structure is not present in the image title (for example, not decoding the data representation to determine whether the image title syntactic structure is present in the image title); and decoding the image based on the determination that the image title syntactic structure is not present in the image title.
