Abstract

The invention relates to an ink preparation, an ink preparation, a packaging material, recycled polyethylene terephthalate, and a method for producing recycled plastic materials. More specifically, the invention relates to an ink preparation that does not contaminate recycled plastic materials in contact with the ink; labels printed with such ink; and plastic products with labels printed with such ink; and a method for printing with such ink, and recycled plastic materials, such as recycled PET, that are little or no contaminated by such ink. For example, during the recycling process, the plastic containers labeled with this ink are placed in hot alkaline washing solutions to separate the ink from the label. When the ink according to the invention is removed from the label, it produces a solid or precipitate that is insoluble in the hot alkaline washing solution. This solid or precipitate is readily separated from the recycled plastic and washing solution, for example by filtration. The separated ink does not contaminate or stain the recycled plastic, or to an acceptable degree.
