Abstract

The invention proposes a method and a communication mechanism. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining, by the terminal device, index information of the downlink synchronization signal blocks; receiving, by the terminal device, information used to indicate the link relationship between the random access resource and the synchronization signal block; and accessing, by the terminal device, the network device based on the information on the random access resource corresponding to the index information of the synchronization signal block. The invention also proposes a corresponding device. The time-frequency position of the random access payload is associated with the downlink synchronization signal indicated, so that the receiving terminal, via downlink synchronization, will send uplink random access signals to avoid the terminal attempting to guess and mismatch the network device's burst of random access signals that occur when the network device receives many random access signals, thereby improving performance.
