Abstract
The design refers to an antenna on glass (AOG) with an air cavity created in at least part within a photosensitive glass substrate, the air cavity structure enclosing at least part of the air cavity, and in which at least part of the air cavity structure is created from the photosensitive glass substrate. The antenna is created from a portion of the top conductive layer positioned on the top surface of the air cavity structure and overlapping at least part of the air cavity. The provided metallized structure has a conductive bottom layer located on the bottom surface of the air cavity structure, in which case the conductive bottom layer is electrically connected to the top metal layer by conductive pillars arranged through the photosensitive glass substrate. Furthermore, the AOG device may incorporate one or more MIM (metal-insulator-metal) capacitors and / or inductors that allow for RF (radio frequency) filtering and impedance matching. Furthermore, the invention also relates to a method for fabricating antennas on glass devices.
