Abstract

This section addresses wireless positioning techniques. Specifically, it covers aspects related to base stations, network entities, and the wireless positioning methods implemented by these devices. In one respect, the base station determines channel information for the multipath channel between the base station and the user equipment (UE) based on at least one location reference signal transmitted to or received from the UE by the base station on one or more radio bursts, compresses the channel information into a compressed representation of the channel information, and transmits this compressed representation of the channel information to the network entity. The network entity identifies the compressed representation of the time-angle channel information and determines the location of the UE based on the compressed representation of the channel information.
