Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) and methods of use in unmanned aerial vehicles

Abstract

The methods and equipment described in this document are for pairing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with UAV controllers (UAV-C). For example: A UAV equipped with a UAV wireless transceiver (WTRU UAV) can transmit access and mobility management (AMF) functions, and air traffic control (NAS) requests including pairing requests and UAV controller identification (UAV-C) information (UAV-C ID). The UAV-C ID can be carried in a pairing request to the Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) service provider (UAS traffic management (UTM)) to authorize the pairing of the UAV with the UAV-C linked to the UAV-C ID. The UAV can receive, from the AMF, NAS response messages including Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Identification Information (UAS ID) indicating that the UAV is paired with UAV-C, where the 1D UAS is designated by USS / UTM.
