Thermoplastic polyuretine elastic composites and methods for their production

Abstract

This invention relates to the field of polymc. More specifically, the invention relates to thermosetting polyurethane elastomers comprising polyesters containing nitro-substituted dicarboxylic acids which are products obtained by the decomposition of polyethylene. The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers described in this document exhibit higher water-transition temperatures and higher Shore A hardness compared to thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers synthesized from similar polyester dimers produced from pure monomers without nitro substitutions.
