Abstract

The invention relates generally to wireless communication systems involving one or more intelligent reflectors. Multiple second nodes communicating with a first node can be grouped into groups of nodes based on one or more communication parameters between multiple second nodes and intelligent reflectors. In turn, the first node can transmit signals to multiple second nodes via a smart reflector device according to a time schedule based on node grouping. Alternatively, the smart reflector device may include surface parts that are divided into multiple surface element regions. The first node can communicate with multiple surface element regions independently to serve multiple second nodes.
