Abstract

The invention relates to a washing apparatus comprising a rotating assembly. This rotating assembly consists of a base positioned on the bottom surface of a drum, and a column rising from the base and having blades arranged on its outer perimeter. A control mechanism drives the rotating assembly to perform an upward and downward motion to produce an upward or downward flow of water at least once during the washing cycle. The controller implements a method of controlling the laundry processing equipment and controlling the drive so that rotation in one direction and rotation in the opposite direction of the actuator are achieved by different amounts of rotation in the upward and downward motion.
