Abstract

The invention for the creation of a photovoltaic cell comprises a front-facing substrate with a metallic patterned region and a rear-facing substrate, a first pyramidal structure in each metallic patterned region, a protruding substrate structure on the rear surface, a first subsurface layer and a first doped layer on a portion of the front surface in the corresponding metallic patterned region, and a second subsurface layer and a second doped layer on the rear surface. The height of each of the first pyramidal pincer structures is greater than the height of each of the smaller protruding structures of the base. The one-dimensional size of the base of each of the first pyramidal pincer structures is smaller than the size of each protruding structure of the base. The type of doping element in the first doped layer is the same as that of the solid plate. The type of doping element in the second doped layer is different from that of the first doped layer.
