The invention relates to a system for recovering and reusing heat in a freezing unit in a seafood processing plant, comprising a condenser, expansion valve, freezer, compressor, cooling tower, heat exchanger, insulated tank, drying chamber, hot water unit, and control unit. In this system, the condenser, expansion valve, freezer, compressor, and heat exchanger are mechanically connected to each other by primary pipes, forming a refrigerant circulation loop; the condenser, cooling tower, and freezer are mechanically connected to each other by secondary pipes, forming a unit used for defrosting inside the freezer. The heat exchanger, insulation, and drying chamber are mechanically connected to each other by secondary pipes, forming a unit used to supply hot water to the drying chamber for the material drying process. In addition, the patent also addresses a method of operating a heat recovery and reuse system in the freezing unit of a seafood processing plant.
