Abstract

The invention relates to a method (1200) for decoding the transform block in a picture frame from a bit stream. The method consists of steps for decoding the single-digit attenuated binary from a bit stream. The single-digit attenuated binary is being used to perform horizontal and vertical transformations of the transform block of the picture frame. Subsequently, the method for determining horizontal and vertical transformation types based on binary single-digit decoding is used to decode and decode the transformation block in the image frame by applying the defined horizontal and vertical transformation types to the image's transformation block.
